Why are you not shutting down towns to fix it right now? Is is because Qixter doesn't want to stop zOMG Beta? If it is, I don't see that as a good reason over towns being fixed to stop the scripting.

The BIGGEST problem with Towns is that it's running on a poor excuse for a backend program, one that's easy for hackers to screw around with. They can attack the evil scriptors all they want, but Towns will not truly be safe until they replace the coding behind the scenes with something more secure...and that'll take a while. Shutting down Towns will not speed up the process in any way.

As for why they haven't shut it down just to deprive the scriptors of their playground, I would guess that they feel a Towns that can be scripted is still more fun than no Towns at all. There are places in Towns where the scriptors don't go. If you have a Gaia House, you can probably arrange to hang out with friends in your own neighborhood, or theirs. Just stay away from the neighboorhoods with numbers beginning with 001, and you'll probably be scriptor-free.

In a past AvA Lanzer mentioned towns shutting down would speed the process, but they would also have to shut down zOMG for a while, because they want towns to run on the same servers as zOMG.

Also, I know for a fact that it doesn't matter where you are, they usually can just do stuff in multiple areas...

I was wonder something. Around 6 or so my gaia wasn't working and I tried to get back on and it won't let me, I had to change my password so I could get back in. Was someone messing with my account or is it because you have to have a number and letters in your password? I was just wondering...so thanks. ^^
