You just need to go for broader/bolder strokes. Using a 2B pencil instead of mechanical might help speed things up a bit.

GAHHH!!! I just realized the white-ink can be sold for 1600Gold in the marketplace! And I just used it for a little sunflower bouquet which sells for 2-3Gold! (Head-slam: BANG!)

PS. Use the 2B sideway for smudge, or press harder for thicker lines. If not working, use 5B. OR 6B....9B.... yeah.

I don't have a 5B or 6B, there's only 2B. >.< And anyways, remember what the previous teacher say about smudge? =w= It hurts the pencil edge xD
