but you do make a point there about circles...then again, you could always use the shape tool or press shift and draw a straight line, not that hard

Sure, with Shift all you lines only go sideways and vertical. And shape and ruler and all that too slow, too cumbersome.

No, not really. Illustrator is even slow and more cumbersome- only for more precise designing. By the time you've drawn a line, you'd have forgotten what the rest look like.
