Suggested pose and expression: Going to go with an idea that was started but never was finished, so the reference is incomplete. >.< (sorry). Basically the idea is this:

Imagine a large underground plant with a hole shaped mouth above ground right at ground level, camoflaged to trap prey. The character above is walking through a clearing when she falls into this hole. On the inside of the plant (below ground). Her feet sink into 1-2 inch deep pool of thick glue like material which adheres to her shoes. The plant has very thin vines in this lower part which are immune to this glue and begin to wrap around her feet. The "mouth" of this plant closes tightly around her waist. On the surface, there are two narrow bell-shaped plants attached to this big one by vines. These smaller ones find and engulfs the character's hands, tightening shackle tight around her wrists.

Short Version:

-Transparent view showing the inside of the plant and what's happening to her inside.
-Feet stuck in 1-2 inch glue. One foot is lifted, straining against the glue which is pulling her foot back down slowly.
-3-4 thin roots under each foot. One foot is tightly bound around the ankle and arch by these vines, pinning it down. The roots for the other foot are reaching up, waiting for the glue to finish pulling her other foot back down.
-Hands trapped wrist deep in two bell shaped plants on the surface, with her trying to yank a hand out.

Suggested pose and expression: The pose and expression I would like to fit part of his personality. Think of someone who is 40 (Rigaudon's actually only 37), is usually serious and mature but when around people he knows and trusts can be a bit antagonistic and teasing. That teasing part of him is what I'd like captured in this picture. To use a mainstream anime example, think Roy Mustang from FMA, minus the peverted element in his acts of bratism. rofl

Other info: He's not really old. Because he's an Atonal (meaning he needs TS Ports drawn on him) is why his hair is grey. Those things on his arms are tight metal bands he actually uses as an offensive/defensive weapon when fist fighting. Also, I'm not 100% sure about the mustache/beard design. If you can think of a better looking one for him by all means feel free to try it on him. 3nodding

As for the facial hair of the 2nd, I was kind of reminded of this X (( gonk Terrible pic, just look at the face)) So would something like that be fine, or should I brainstorm more?

Hmm, I kinda though that since it was mostly white it would be more fitting with her black hair. But I may be wrong since it takes me forever to find complimentary colors. >>; I'm not very particular on this area so if another color scheme works better for the ears feel free to use that instead. 3nodding
