Oh really? Aw shoot. Then my contest is going to just make things a little more difficult for you during the duration of Ramadan. gonk
Ah well..at least I can give you ideas when you don't have to fast, lol. But, what is most important is that I don't cause any undue hardship on you while you celebrate the holiday. I'd feel terrible if that happened D:
Of course! So far, BBL has a bid, and she has pretty much set up a tent in my art auction thread so she can tantalize me with all of the food xD
Any kind of support is welcome, and you've always been an avid supporter of everyone's quests and endeavours. I wonder how you do it surprised

But now it's 2:20am here...and I have work at noon, so I better get my bunny butt to bed so I can wake up x_x;;
G'night Orchie, and thanks for always being so good in supporting this shop and everything we do heart

Please don't worry yourself , dear. I seem to be visiting Gaia mostly after sunset/at night these days anyway. So, I don't think that the food pictures will cause me too much trouble. I'll actually be able to eat during the night during Ramadan. Lol. xd
Are people just finding these pictures randomly off of google?
I have some lovely ideas, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find good pictures of the dishes on google. Perhaps I could just describe them to you some time? This would not officially be for a "bid". I'd just like to see if I could excite your taste buds, for fun. Hehe. ^^
blaugh Yes. That is exactly what I would expect from our BBL. What fun!
Well, I suppose that it is just in my nature to be supportive of the endeavors of friends. Even if I cannot offer a lot of actual funds, I am always good for offering moral support. ^__^

Alright, Yue. Good night, and rest well. I hope that work goes well for you tomorrow.
Of course, M'lady. You are welcome. *bows to you politely* n_n heart

KYAAAAA! I didn't think it was possible, but that Sailor Mars picture looks even better than the last time you showed me! >w<

<.<; I remember there was this whole debate on the radio not so long ago over whether or not it was right to ban food from council meetings during Ramadan so no one would offend fasting Muslims...

See, it was the people who WEREN'T Muslims that suggested this, and all the Muslims were all saying stuff like 'Well, I'm the one who's fasting, not you, so why should everyone else have to go hungry just because of my beliefs? It's not going to bother me if someone has a sandwich at a meeting'

...This is another 'Political Correctness gone mad' thing. We're all so afraid of offending people. =_=

Ahhhhhh, being Politically Correct.
It reminds me of a book I read a few eons ago...Politically Correct Fairy Tales. I think if I went and read it now, I'd be laughing my tushie off. xD
However, even if the idea isn't well-accepted, it's the thought that counts. People of the Muslim faith fast during Ramadan more for religious reasons than social reasons, so it's not entirely "offensive" if people eat when they can't - it's more offensive if people don't respect that Ramadan is their holiday of fasting. My chemistry professor explained it to us, since she's Muslim. Orchie could probably explain it more thoroughly, as well, since she celebrates the holiday 3nodding

Meh, I don't actively TRY to offend people, but if something I say offends them I'll either apologise or tell them to grow up, depending on what it was that I said.

@Yue and Mew: You are absolutely correct that Muslims fast during Ramadan mainly for its religious significance rather than for social reasons. Still, Ramadan does tend to provide a nice way for Muslims of the community to get together in a more social atmosphere when we break our fasts after sunset each day, that we may not get to enjoy during most other times of the year. ^_^
As I understand it, we fast during Ramadan to show that we are grateful for the bounty we have been given. Along that line, fasting represents our ability to practice self-restraint. In the religious sense, Ramadan is a period of spiritual purification and a time for self-reflection when Muslims reflect upon their deeds and their lives in general, and in so doing, examine how we can better ourselves as people on a personal level.
Giving charity is one of the "five pillars of Islam" that are observed by all practicing Muslims. Muslims are encouraged to act charitably throughout the year, but Ramadan the time of year when this spirit is most strongly felt. In addition to personal fasts, Muslims often provide donations of food and clothing to organizations that provide for the needy of their local communities.
I agree that it is quite silly to ban eating and drinking in certain public places simply to avoid "offending" Muslims when they are observing Ramadan. They would not be offended simply by seeing a person eat. xP I would personally feel terrible if my non-Muslim friends went hungry just for my sake. sweatdrop We would only truly be offended by someone not respecting our right to observe Ramadan according to our beliefs and practices. 3nodding

@Danni: You're right about it becoming harder and harder to avoid offending anyone these days. Political correctness can certainly be taken too far at times though. >_< We do have to simply do the best we can.
...
Please don't do anything rash... sad Focus on the positive things you have going on in your life. Things will look brighter in time... Just please don't give up on yourself. *offers another show-of-support hug* heart
