I've seen life burn bright, seen it shimmer
Then fade like starlight to a glimmer
I've seen life flow by, like a river
So full-of twilight, dreams that glitter

Yeah they do. Blargh. Then again, teens' standards to what is "cool" changes in the blink of an eye.

I hear all this talk about humans having short attention spans but most believe that Teens have no attention spans....

...my elbow really hurts, thanks for asking.

I just ignore what most people my age care about. It doesn't matter to me.

@Mew: Umm...you're welcome, sweets? ^^;;
Good for you. Most everything is usually impertinent after you turn 21. ^^

@Danni: Mmm, not really. Teens have attention spans, but it's usually fixated on a habit or on something they really enjoy.
In this era, it's video games and partying. Back in my parents' era, it was partying and going out.
However, my parents were busy. My dad preferred to take things apart and fix them. My mom was helping her mother raise her siblings, while working two jobs and going to school. (There are 6 kids on my mom's side, herself included, so you can see why she had to help with her siblings.) You have to remember, back then it was the 70s, so some standards were different.

Yea.... but honestly I think some teens don't want any responsibility and will do anything to get out of it. I myself was guilty of that sort of thing when I was a teenager. Instead of learning how to drive and socializing with my friends, I was at home developing my artistic skills, playing video games and meeting people online and chatting on AIM, Yahoo or MSN.

In the case of my parents, they were given responsibility from childhood.
In our generation, we were not exactly instilled those same kinds of responsibilities unless it was forced upon us.
Almost all of my friends had some kind of familial issue, either divorce or a parent missing from their life, so they know how to deal with s**t as it happens. I, on the other hand, have been "spoiled" to have both parents and a good life.
The s**t I got was lupus, and even that has failed to make me less spoiled.
But, despite being spoiled, I'm more humble about things than I used to be. I now laugh at all the high school drama that was in my life, and all the people I hated in high school I don't really hate much anymore. I just hate select individuals.
