Well, my mother and brother don't work, so I can't expect anything from them, my grandmother always just hands out a bunch of gift cards and whatever she sees in Walmart or K-Mart that she thinks we would like (which we never really do), and I don't have any real friends that would spend actual money on me.
My father's the only one that actually comes through during the holidays, but... he's only one person. So, I generally just try to fit something in for myself between buying all the bums presents.
It works, though. I always get what I want. =D

Most of my inner circle of friends have similar family issues, so I try to get them all something they like. The holidays depress me, so I just like spreading joy.

I don't get depressed by the holidays. Well, not anymore than I do any given night when I'm left with no one to talk to and my own thoughts to keep me company. xD

Really, though, I've always enjoyed them. Even if I don't get a lot, and even if I'm not able to give as much as I wish, just seeing the spirit of the season affect everyone's mood is rather impressive.
It's really the only time of the year that the decency I try to see in everyone is shown so forwardly.

That would be the reason that I'm online so much. I try not to linger too long in the quiet of my mind. The effect the holidays has on people is nice. People act a lot more decent. It does seem that no matter how much I save, I never have enough to give all that I'd like.

If I have someone to talk to, it usually keeps me from thinking too much. Usually.

I always have that trouble, too. I think I just need to disperse the generosity more evenly, though. I find I give the least-deserving people the most, or best, things.
