I went to one convention, if you could call it a convention, with all the lameness it was made of. but it wasn't so much of a cultureshock, more of a 'I can't stop laughing because if I do I'll start to cry'. it was awful. small space, bad cosplays, sad people and a dealer room with stuff I could have bought at the local gamestore. gonk

I like the idea of cosplaying...but I mean a serious cosplay, something that looks like out of a movie.

None of that cardboard stuff.

I would never cosplay myself. I have this weird idea in my head that you have to actually fit the character, and I'm not exactly standard built in face and body. which is also why I can't stand it when a chubby kid hoists herself into a costume from a character that's at least 50 kilos lighter, but also believes she'll look good in shorts or skirts and bare belly shirts and can pull off the kawaii look. or skinny white guys with who dress up like muscled fighters and wear the most awful wigs, that have been abused to the point of no return with hair gel so the hair will stick up.

might sound shallow from my side, but how can you not know you look like a righteous t**t?

Conventions are fun, but there's always that snarky side of me that can't help but laugh at extremely bad cosplays, or some of the completely socially inept people I happen to meet. xD
