Akia Walker used to be a cheerful, kind and honest child, though a bit of a tomboy. Her mother took her through the forest every evening to watch the sun set over the ocean from a field on a hill, as if she was waiting for Akia’s father to return home. One night, when Akia was seven years old, a storm broke loose and lightning set fire to the field. Her mother told her to run home, and thinking her mother was right behind her she did. But she tripped, scarred her left upper arm and lost consciousness. The next morning her mother had disappeared.
Shortly after a man appeared, claiming to be her father, and she was given into his care, no questions asked. But Akia knew he was lying. Her father, from who she got her blue eyes, is a foreigner a British noble man, and this man was clearly Japanese. The man locked her away and abused her for three long years. But she was convinced to become stronger and free herself one day.
After three years the man send her away to work in another town, but the farmers escorting her were attached by an enormous black leopard (I know, wtf is a leopard doing there) and they left the little girl behind. Though she should have been afraid, Akia followed the leopard into the forest. She lived there peacefully for 5 years, continuing to become stronger and starting to practice with daggers and throwing knives.
However, when a cup of the panthers sibling is killed by man from a nearby village, Akia takes revenge and murders every men of the village who was present in the night. She also takes revenge on the man who once claimed to be her father, covers the scar on her arm with a black ribbon and leaves the area for good. She sets out on a journey to protect the forest she loves. The leopard takes her to places that seem to be from a different time, a different world even, she makes many enemies and a few friends. When she arrives in a big city falls in love and decides to stay there, though she feels cared between its high walls. She is betrayed by her lover and finally ends up killing him, after which she returns to the forest and swears to never give anything up for a human again.
Several years later however, when she is 22, she meets an 18 year old boy named Naoya who makes her want to change her mind. People always keep their distance from Akia, but Naoya smiles at her honestly and warm. He sees the best in her. Her cold eyes seem only sad to him. He sees her arrogance as confidence and her rudeness as honesty. Eventually he asks her to stay with him, and some part of her wants to, but it is in her nature to leave, pulled away by the cold wind. And she knows they would both be better off without each other.

Personality:
Despite all the drama mentioned above Akia is a fun character. She is good at fighting and loves it. She is arrogant, rude and despises most humans. She is fearless, but not stupid enough to engage in fights she has no chance of winning. She likes making fun of others and is often bored or annoyed by them. Sometimes you catch her in a cold, serious, almost melancholic mood, as if she is longing for something far way.

Is it bad that I like the "wtf is a leopard doing there" part? /shot
And not at all. I have been trying to find a good explanation for what the ******** that leopard is doing there for quite some time, without succes.
