I like your pose a lot more than my suggestion. The only thing I want to make sure is that his face will be turned to the viewer. If you are feeling ambitious, I think that playing with the lighting would be a nice affect. Possibly something like this, where the presence of shutters is suggested by the vertical beams of light splashing onto the side of his face there.
