@Amara: I know, its so complicated half our class were dozing off when we tackled that topic. I was one of the few students who was awake that time. I was just so fascinated by it. My mother wanted me too study in Ateneo but their Standards for the College of Nursing weren't really enough for me, somehow I feel that WMSU had better teachers. whee . I might studying med either in Cebu, Manila, or Hong Kong. It depends upon my mother.

well I heard WMSU is good! and ateneo de manila (is that right) recently opened their college of medicine

have you ever heard of PBL system of teaching in medicine? CIM uses that method, and its really hard for us students coz we dont get lectures like the traditional way of teaching!
Instead we get small group discussions (aka SGDs) and we talk with our designated group about the topics and all. we are told to read certain chapters in our official books and every mondays we have LONG EXAMS D: that's the tiresome part of med!
and sometimes you just wish you were a med tech...us nursing always have a hard time with histology, microbiology and other medtech inclined subjects..we only do good in Physical Exams and Diseases biggrin hehehe!

well if you plan to study med in CIM, I'll surely welcome you :3 but I should warn you that it's really hard D: and stressful...maybe you can just study in a med school that has traditional teaching smile

OMG! We kind of have that too but we don't do it all the time. I hate Focus Group Discussions, every time we have those we all end up chatting with each other, without learning anything in the end. Major Epic Fail I tell you.

Microbiology, Anatomy, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology....Gawd, I don't want to study those subjects anymore. They give me the shivers. And let's not forget the graded demo's. Ugh, I really dread that part of Nursing.

hmm you won't have physics and zoology anymore smile

first year is: Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, and Biochemistry (biochem is a major killer for all of us students @_@ drives us nuts!!!)

and second year there's Pharmacology, Physical Diagnosis (aka Physical Assessment in nursing language), Microbiology-Parasitology, and Pathology

yeah those stupid return demonstrations..they're really stressful...but i like the easy procedures though..not the hard ones, parenteral medication was difficult coz of the old way of preparing your meds into your syringes...

wow we've been talking a lot here XD
I have to go now..I have to read my book for tomorrow's SGD ..it's about lung cancer ...I'm so tired X_X

well, when you take NMAT there's physics in it O_O you know my brother is also in 3rd year nursing right now and he also plans to enter medicine afterwards! He actually is gonna take the NMAT scheduled this december! ^^; excited bro... are you gonna take NMAT next april (is that the next schedule?) or will you take it next december? smile
