I think your art is out of the norm so it's awesome but then, most people are used to anime styled, that's why : D
I'm reallllyyyyy bad at pricing as well. For me, I think you should get paid for the amount of work done. Which seems to be a lot of work >:
What I've done in the past is set a solid pricing... If I get a lot of orders then I raise it until there's a good amount flowing in. Then opposite for opposite effect (:

I used to draw anime then I started studying anatomy and it screwed me up for cartoons. Now I'm trying to learn to draw anime again. This chibi I'm working on, for example, is giving me a right good headache. Because it needs to be purposely drawn disproportionate. I want to beat my head on my desk. XD I mean, my anatomy still sucks but it's just barely good enough that chibis are screwing with my head. lol
I agree on pricing. Yeah. What I draw takes me close to 7-8 hours per picture. Most of it is coloring, though. I do probably between a quarter and a half of my detail work with my colors, usually.
