16/04/2010 - HEY! LONG TIME NO BE HERE, EH? Well, I plan to quit Gaia, so I want to put my earnings to use and use them to get art of my characters. I will tip well for characters that have no art at all.

29/07/2009 - Funds up and I shall be updating my art area in a second. I feel like I'm forgetting something....oh yeah....COMIC-CON WAS AWESOME!
16/07/2009 - Okay, the art is updated with new pieces and some I found and I feel stupid for not putting up. Anyway, Comic-Con is next week, and I will be there every second I can, so less time here. Just letting ya know.

Background Story

Quick Summary

This story takes place in modern day, however it goes back to the origins of mankind. As humans were starting to evolve, an alien species visited the earth and took a few humans and inserted their DNA to fuse with the humans. At first, nothing happened in with the humans. However, as time progressed, the effects started to emerge and show up on the humans. This is happening now to teenagers and other humans up to the age of twenty-five. They are given these powers. Only a small handful exist. Some try to live with it, some believe they are superior that normal humans, and some just want to go back with how things were.

Now, some hybrids are teaming up for various reasons. Some to find others like them while others are planning a hostile take over. This is the hybrid story.

So yeah, that's basically it in a nutshell.

Power: Control of Fire, can fire in streams or balls; able to absorb fire
Special Skill: Has a sharp tongue and can insult at people's weakness
Weapons: None

Heritage: 1/4 Mexican 3/4 Puerto Rican
Personality: very hot-headed and arrogant; some what a leader; has a fun loving, soft side.
Eye/Hair Color: Blood Red/Silverish Black and Red
Likes: Cooking, her 'new family', Letting her hair down once in a while (she keeps it up because the females in her family have it up as a sign of virtue, she doesn't like it)
Hates: being in charge of her 'new family', baby sitting her real sibings, Luke mocking her,

Esperanza, or “Es” by her friends, is the eldest of a large family. She has two brothers (Jehu and Rodrigo) and three sisters (Gabrielle, Catirina, and Gina) living with her in her parent’s apartment along with her aunt, uncle and their son, Isaiah. Being the oldest, she is given the most responsibility and given the job of looking over her siblings. She has lived in Hell’s Kitchen her whole life, which is odd for a Puerto Rican family to be living in an Irish neighborhood. She get’s above average grades in school, although she honestly doesn’t know how or why as she doesn’t get a chance to study. When she turned fifteen, she was not given a quinceaños party due to her parents thinking she was not mature enough. Outraged by this, Es ran away from home for a few days. While taking refuge in Central Park, Es discovered her powers. She finally came to her senses and returned home, still angered but understood why her parents believed why she was not ready.

Power: Able to crystalize her entire body into diamond (when in diamond form, she cannot feel pain until she turns back)
Special Skill: Easily amused with almost anything
Weapons: Her limbs can create weapons when crystalized

Heritage: Full Irish (this is a guess due to being an orphan)
Personality: Very naive but clever in her own way; acts a lot like a little kid when excited; Doesn't always think things all the way through
Eye/Hair Color: Green/Red
Likes: School, ice cream, simple things in life.
Hates: being treated as a kid, her power's side effect

Laura was orphaned at a young age and she honestly cannot remember anything about her parents. She was shown to be a very bright girl and even skipped a grade in the private school she attended in South Brooklyn. It was at that private school where she met Takashi Kowaii and became a friend of his, despite how Takashi disliked her hyperness. Takashi actually took it upon himself to look after Laura as a big brother she didn’t have. It was also Takashi who Laura came to first when she discovered her power to crystallize her body. He warned her to not do anything that could be both dangerous and just plain stupid. And like a good little sister, she obeyed and still follows his orders to the letter.

Weapons: None, but is a skilled archer

Personality: Appears emotionless and not caring for other's problems (changes over time); blunt, smart, quick-witted, and cunning,

Likes: his best friend Bradley (since childhood), Tofu, Surfing,
Hates: People depending on him, Archery, a hyper Laura

Takashi was born the second child of four. He has an older sister, Kagami, and two younger twins, Kenpachi and Sakaki. He is a New York native, being born in the Bronx and raised there most of his life. He is street smart and knows what to expect in the big city. It is also here where he becomes friends with Bradley Wilder. The two became great friends. However, after he was basically at the wrong place at the wrong time, Takashi was accused of a crime and his parents thought it would be best if he moved to Hawaii with his grandparents for a few years. While in Hawaii, Takashi took up surfing and fishing. After his parents thought it was okay for him to come back, he did, but they had moved to Brooklyn. This made Takashi feel isolated and away from his friends back in the Bronx. This caused his Kagami to worry about him, who was technically his legal guardian as his parents were out of the country on both business and vacation, only coming back once in a while. Takashi tried to adjust and became friends with Laura. About the same time as Laura’s powers developed, so did his. Seeing how dangerous both of their powers were, Takashi thought it was best that they both don’t use their powers often, or at all.

Power: Able to warp reality in minor impacts; able to fire 'temporal energy'
Special Skill: Able to guess, with good accuracy, what someone's heritage

Heritage: Full English (heritage can be traced back to Puritan era)
Personality: very emotionly unstable; she herself as 'the one who doesn't fit in with everyone'; autophobic

Likes: Takashi, reading, drawing,
Hates: anyone hurting her new friends, Es being bossy, her autophobia (she 'fights' herself at times)

Rachel was born into an average middle class family. With a younger brother, Allen, she lives in St. George on Staten Island with her mother and step-father. Her father, a stock broker, lives in Manhattan and she frequently lives with him, even going to school in Manhattan, commuting from Staten Island. Considered a social outcast by many of the kids at her schools through the years, she has moved into a dark part of her mind, creating a little world of her own. She has very few friends over the years. Throughout her youth, she has dyed her hair different colors, causing her natural brunette hair color to be multicolored with yellow, red, black, and even a little purple showing. As her powers began to show themselves, they began to take effect on her. As she had her own little world in her mind, it became real to her. While her body was in a coma, her mind was in the world she had created. Rachel had to literally fight herself to regain control and break free from herself. Her power of altering reality and even time itself is a big burden for her to understand and deal with. This is when she understood how powerful her powers were and she knew that she had to be careful. Yet, fighting herself and living in autophobia often got the best of her as her emotions got the best of her, and they often still do.


Name: Jean-Luc St. Pierre "Luke"
Age: 19
Power: Telepath, very limited to just being able to find other hybrids and over come his blindness.
Special Skill: Acrobatic and is able to see with his 'mind's eye' to over come his blindness (he can see objects but is blind to light and text. Also has a type of cloth over his eyes)
Weapons: None
Height: 176 cm
Weight: 70 kg
Heritage: 1/2 French 1/2 Canadian
Personality: Very laid back; likes pokes fun at Es when she is mad,
Eye/Hair Color: Colorless/White
Likes: Poking fun at people, exotic cuisine, Es when she is annoyed (thinks it's cute)
Hates: become blind, being unable to read Braille
Character Song: "Falling For the First Time" by Barenaked Ladies


Jean-Luc, like Laura, was raised in an orphanage. Unlike her however, Jean-Luc was abandoned because his parents could not deal with having a son who was born blind. Despite his handicap, Luke, as the others would call him, still lived a normal life, or as close as one could have. He was given a black piece of cloth to go over his eyes by a friend who also had a handicap like him at the orphanage, a missing arm. The two became friends until Luke’s friend was diagnosed with liver cancer and had to be at the hospital around the clock. Luke did not hear from his friend ever again, but he still believes that his friend is still fighting. He never speaks about this friend. Luke’s power started to develop about a month after this incident. He could see with what he named his ‘mind’s eye’. His movement became enhanced and became that of an acrobat. Despite having the ‘eye’, Luke is unable to see light, fire, and works. In fact, he states that when he sees people, he sees them as ‘wire-frames that talk.’ After six years of this, he turned eighteen and left the orphanage and found a shack onto of a warehouse in Battery Park to live in where he still lives in.

Name: Bradley James Wilder
Age: 18
Power: Superhuman speed
Special Skill: Knows Boxing and Muay Thai from street fighting; able to bargain well in any situation
Weapons: Brass Knuckles
Height: 163 cm
Weight: 82 kg
Heritage: African American (no way to trace back exactly where his family origiated from)
Personality: Toughs on the outside but is like a little teddy bear;
Eye/Hair Color: Brown/Black
Likes: Takashi (childhood friends), Laura (and it shows), boxing, his grandfather's legacy as a boxer
Hates: Fish, being considered stupid,

Bradley is the son of a pair of EMS medics and the grandson of a famous boxer. Bradley, full of pride of his grandfather’s legacy, took up boxing. However, both his grandparents and his own parents aren’t too thrilled with the idea but encourage him to do his best. His parents were killed in an ambulance accident when Bradley was ten, two years before Takashi moved to Hawaii. His grandparents took him and raised him there home in the south end of the Bronx, near where he used to live. Bradley always kept his training up and trying to get his grandfather’s approval of taking up boxing. His grandfather is worried that he might get into trouble with his boxing and with street fighting. Despite Bradley’s promise, he still worries. Bradley’s power emerged when he was training solo one day. He found his speed can help him in boxing. He found his speed can get up to around the speeds of 160 mph. However, he has been able to push himself to reach speeds of around 500 plus, meaning he’s still evolving with his power.
