Oh yeah, that sounds highly plausible. sweatdrop The IHOP near my house has made it a policy that if you want to order a T-bone steak, you have to come in person to order it because they've had too many prank calls from people who don't come to pick up that expensive meal. Except that NaNoWriMo isn't a bunch of random jerks trying to run a company into financial trouble.
*Rubs your back soothingly* :3
Retail is one of the hardest jobs to handle mentally, emotionally, and sometimes physically. And it has almost little to no payoff. People take it for granted just how hard retail can be, and the fact that you can't 'fight' back against customers gives reason to why there are so little good stories. sweatdrop
I know they're not. X-x They just think it's a good idea and sadly don't think of any of the backlash it might create. *sigh* Honestly it's not even that great of an idea to begin with. :- Anything you write in a month that's 50K+ in length has been rushed, ill-y thought out, and likely needs re-written from scratch just to deal with the bugs you overlooked in the process.
Heck my very first 'novel' I wrote in about 12 weeks; and even though it was functional I'm still scrapping it to start over and fix all the problems. *purrs contently from the rubs*
Ugh, that's why I usually try not to gripe at anyone in food or services. Even if they get my stuff catastrophically wrong. XP They've probably heard it from someone else several times over on minor things. sad
