I think it should be over already, but it's just way too short D;
Here:
It was this kind of darkness. The kind of darkness where the rain began to quietly touch your skin, illuminating your soul and where the fear and dread shown brilliantly with the stars above. Where the bloodstains were washed away with the sky’s tears and the trees that surrounded you whispered lies. Where rose-tinted lips without any worry could speak the unforgiving and ruthless truth. They stood, wind still at their will, breaths halting to a stop, and eyes wandering, flickering from the ground at their feet to each other. All was silent as both of the rivals stood directly under the halved moon, which created a glimmer of sadness in their eyes and rain tapping them lightly.
The battle was over.
“Naruto, did you know I was weak?” Sasuke’s eyes had continued to stay in Sharingan, meeting his friend’s softer, crystalline gaze filled with despair. Ready to break.
“What? What the hell happened to you Sasuke? You disappeared for years and you come back saying you are weak?” His chest visibly heaved with every word, every thought, and every fear. Sasuke the one he had loved, idolized, and hated disappeared. No, he couldn’t cry. Naruto made the pain in his heart pause as he gripped his fingers tautly into a fist, dying on the inside. Dark blood dripped down his tanned hand rushing to the ground beneath them, but only to disappearing in the rain. Just like their friendship.
I can’t believe him. I just can’t. He left the village, he left our team, he left me and he came back like this? What the hell happened? Why… Why is Sasuke like this? Why did he leave?
“I killed him and now what do I have? No purpose, nothing to live for anymore.” It was painful for Naruto to hear Sasuke say these words. And he finally understood. Everything he had wanted, all he needed. It was finished.
“You can go…on.” The tears thickened, and thinned. His face was facing toward the ground; droplets fell one at a time. Streaking and staining as they did so. “Sasuke… you can.” Sasuke was surprised at the opposition. What was left, but an empty shell of abandonment, unfulfilled hope and nothingness?
“It’s too late.”
“But…”
“There’s nothing you can do anymore.”
“No! No…” Naruto paused solemnly. “I was the weak one… I couldn’t even make you stay. I couldn’t help my friend. I’m not gonna sit in the corner and wait for you to figure it out. I’m going to bring you back to the village!” He looked up instantly, eyes dripping and teeth gritting together with pain. Holding his tears in. “I’m sorry that I couldn’t even help you.”
“Why?” Sasuke asked, seemingly confused. His lips moved slowly, echoing his own word with each small movement.
“Because. I won’t say good-bye again.” His face was flushed from the seemingly ended battle. They hadn’t moved closer yet, but it did seem that their hearts had. Beating faster as their eyes met, words flowing to each other.
It was all just another battle to them.
