that's cool, are you cosplaying as anything for the con? my friend is going to a local one this weekend and thinking of dressing up as Orion from Chuck...lol...you art classes sound like fun...(though i know that they can be a lot of work too...)

OoO...that's cool...i've never dyed my hair...but i cut it recently to shoulder length...(i cut about 4"-6" off...)

Lol, yes busy as usual with my competitions. o.o well there are too many ideas and not enough time in the year otherwise. I wanted to do both and couldn't decide which first so i did both, since the trio one is pretty self sufficient since everyone hangs out there. I should bump the other more though.

i've been alright...just busy...this quarter i have all five of my classes on tuesdays and thursdays, so i'm going from 8:30am-8:30pm...but luckily every other day consists of one or two so it isn't too bad overall...i just wish i wasn't moving/packing on the weekends... stare but at least we get to watch a movie in japanese class! ^_^ lol...

maybe i'll stop by and bump at some point...^_^ i'm tempted to participate, but it depends on how much time i have this quarter/summer...(i should see when the end-times are...lol...)

i'm going to call it a night now because i have to get up at around 7:00-ish in order to make it to class on time...*sigh* i'll be around-ish though, so i'll talk to you later! ^_^

so for those of you who didn't know...i'm taking a computer animation course this quarter...and it has given me a whole new level of respect for film makers, editors, animators, modelers, video game makers, etc...it takes so long to make something which can end up looking so tacky! >_<

<<NOTE: the following is a rant on my first project>>

for project one, we were supposed to make a hybrid of organic/inorganic and i decided to make a "blow fish mine." the video starts out with the model "swimming" (really just following a path and not doing any actual movement...) around off and on screen until it gets up close to the camera, gets shocked/puffs up, turns around and runs away (the camera following it as it twists and turns to get away), then bumps into a rock and explodes...this film lasts about 25 seconds total. (meaning about 750 frames/images that were used...) just to do the first scene of the blow fish getting up close to the camera took about 1-1.5 hours to render...(keep in mind i didn't have any fancy texturing on it either...) i literally spent from 1:30pm-midnight working on this animation (sometimes using 2 computers at once), still didn't get it done, and had to work an additional 6 hours today to get it in on time...(that's a total of about 16.5 hours invested into a lousy 25 second clip of an exploding blow fish...) this, however, doesn't include the hours i spent modeling and such...but i'm not too sure how long it acutally took...(not too long once i figured out what i was doing...kinda...lol...probably just about 5-6 hours of tweeking and such...)

anyway, why do i say this? i just thought i'd let people know that it's a lot harder than it looks and i've learned a lot in just doing this/gained a whole new level of respect for the people behind the scenes...(still doesn't mean i won't critique or that i'll start thinking everything's amazing...i'll just be able to apreciate the work that went into making everything...) if i get a chance/figure it out/re-vamp the video so i can post it on devart or youtube, i'll let post a link...(for now, i might post a pic of the blowfish model later...if people are interested...)



Kimmi: yeah i'll try to! >_< sorry i haven't been around...as you can see from my rant above i've been a little busy with the one class and i have 4 others i'm attending too...*sigh*...(lol...it's not as bad as i make it seem though...just takes up time... ^_^; )

no rush.. I'm taking my time setting the thing up.. I don't have any references yet for the characters so I don't need it like soon soon or nothing ^ ^ I'm hoping to have it all set up in a week or two though. but if it takes you a while still its okay I can add it as reference later too :3

Kimmi: yup, i did... ^_^ (thought it was time for a change...)

All: hi everyone...not much as been going on with me...just school work...i finished my second animation EVER...this time it took about 4 hours to render 12 sec. of transforming cups...i love the look of glass but it's a pain in the neck to deal with! >_<

anywho, i haven't really been able to do much outside of the class room...so i thought i'd share some of my class doodles with everyone... ^_^



these are just a few that i've done on my 20 pgs worth of notes for my international studies/globalization class...i've done others in other classes too, but i haven't scanned/taken photos of those notes so they aren't important/added into this...lol...for the most part i just wanted to show people that i am indeed still drawing and such...i just haven't made anything all that exciting/finished in a while due to lack of time. ^_^; i'm also trying to come up with something good to draw quickly for my friend who's in iraq at the moment...so if any of you guys have a good idea/joke/etc, let me know! >_<

anyway, i hope people are having a good time doing what they do! ^_^ i'll talk to you all later!

Hi all...How have you been?! I’m just getting done with a really crazy week and getting ready to get into the next one...lol...I had about 5 papers due this week as well as chem homework, I’ve been working on my animation (I’m animating my blob from last quarter...He’s cool, but it’s a lot of point level animation...) and I’ve been trying to get a picture/letter done to send in a box to my friend who’s in Iraq at the moment...plus trying to schedule a time to go home to pack the house, and find a job...and more! (a.k.a. a whole lot of fun!)

Anyway, sorry to complain! >_< I’m sure you guys have heard enough of it...But I thought I would ask your opinion on the image I’m working on for my friend...It’s near completion, but I need to get a few things done on it before it’s completely done...Currently, I’m torn between making the character’s hair black or red, and I thought I’d show you the options...Let me know what you think is best! ^_^



Oh, and by the way, if you’re wondering what the blob is...It’s this thing:



This is the original context and three different views of it...the only thing I photoshoped on the actual blob still was the slime trail, otherwise everything else is 3D modeled and textured in Cinema 4D...Also, I so drew that pencil. It was originally used in a picture I did for my roommate...(Some of you might know/remember Dr. Hart) everything else, I either found on Google images, photoshoped, or both to make the final product. I so wanted to rapid prototype the blob...Sadly, I never got the chance to...*sob*
