^ ^ coz with practice we improve! (except me coz i suck XDD)

^.^ of course! I luff all over your art! <3
hey, hey, hey...i'm a strong believer of "if you can write, you can draw" and you're right, with practice, and maybe some guidance, there is no reason why you couldn't improve... ^_^ the toughest part is accepting criticism as something helpfull not hurtfull...(i get really deffensive when i get criticism... -_- )

i basically come from a family full of artists...(my grandfather was a color expert at a company as well as professional artist, my aunt is also a professional artist, my dad was a photographer at one point, my brother is a blacksmith/woodworker, etc. etc....plus my friends who just happen to be really good at art...lol...) so compared to a lot of people who are around me...i'm not all that great...but i have a very unique/recognizable style, so it works out...

>.> pssh...i'm pretty good with drawing random things more so than people.
I've always loved drawing but im not that great with anime style really XD

I've kind of decided that I'll stick with writing coz im better at it.
Though i know that practice helps, my writing has improved a lot over the years.
Yea taking criticism can be hard sometimes. I get defensive over my OCs and stories ^ ^;

^.^ horray for uniqueness! <3
I guess it would be hard if you're around so many other people who are artists.

^.^ I want to do mangas at one point, but i'd be the idea person not the artist... XD

Senyou: yeah..i really like usumu's music! >_< (big nerd when it comes to movie soundtracks...) i really like Joe Hisaishi's music too...it's all just really beautiful and interesting too! >_<

well, the ones that you saw on my site are actually not completely done yet... sweatdrop i finished one, but i still have about 3/4 of the other one left...lol...but the pair i painted for my friend/conversation partner are really different and simpler...if i remember, i'll upload some of the photos i took of them when i get back to my computer...(i'm on my dad's at the moment...)

Kimmi: aww...that's so sweet of you to say... >_<

I don't know joe hisaishi OO!! I will search for it when I have time smile ok ^^ I'm sure that they're are nice too :3

about the "if you can write you can draw" I'm not sure about that V.V I suck at drawing since I was a little child sweatdrop (and I write decently but not very good too emo )
Joe Hisaishi is the guy who does all of Hayao Miyazaki's music, minus some of those "theme songs" like in Spirited Away...he did everything but the one that the woman sang (i forget her name... -_- ) and i meant Susumu...i had a typo... *blush*

edit: (sorry for the rant coming up...you can just ignore it if you want...lol... sweatdrop )

well, it's a matter of keeping up with it and doing what you can...really, drawing is just a way of looking at the world...much like writing or anything else, it's a level of understanding your subject...like, i can write, but not very well...i have repetative sentance structures and the way my mind functions, makes it so it's hard for me to get a message accross well/clearly through words...(it's partially why i have to type so much when explaining something...lol...) but it's also a matter of understanding what you're doing wrong, and having a clear image of what you're writing about so that you can describe it clearly/fix any mistakes...

so for drawing, it's more noticing how things work in space. for instance, how fabric folds over the body, how light changes how things look, the base shapes that can be used and how they fit together, etc. etc. (it's kinda funny because i'll sometimes be posing myself in the same pose that i'm drawing, or i'll be "staring at someone" but i'm really just trying to notice the shape of thier face or how i could get their pose onto paper, etc., etc...lol...) so if you're trying to draw figures, i like to draw them nude/"wearing spandex" before i add clothing because it makes it much easier to see how the clothes should flow around it/fit...and if you have curtains or even just a towel, it might help to do fabric studies to see how pulling it effects the fabric etc....in other words, draw what you see, then after you have a clearer understanding of that, then you can start drawing from your head a little better...(i copied anime characters when i was in 6th grade...and that's partially why my "realism" is so weird looking...)

a part of it is also hand-eye coordination, so you need to play more video games...lol...also, your handwriting doesn't mean anything...you've seen mine, and it's pretty cruddy! >_< i have to try really hard to make it decent...(lettering is beyond me...)

*Thinks* I suppose that makes sense. I'm kinda okay at faces/bust type pictures. I find body shape and clothes and those kinds of things hard, i looked for books but i couldn't find anything that explained that in all the anime how-to-draw type books. But im not especially good at it.

So I guess i've kind of given up i suppose. I dont draw as much as i used to...i used to just sit and just draw random things. So perhaps seeing all the good artists on here that i commission and talk to and going on DA so much has kind of killed wanting to draw ^ ^;

Or i might just be going on a different phase. I go between different phases sometimes: drawing, writing, reading, playing games etc. Really right now all i do is work on my OCs, order art and work on my writing. Though i think my writing is something im better at and more into than drawing. At least in a serious way.
