Taro: You do the same thing we do. I didn't know it was a German thing, but then again, my dad is full-blooded German, so that would make sense. Though with us, it's just my parents and I, so there's no other family to go back to. xD

And awww, that's good that you get to spend the whole day with her. I wish I could see my boyfriend on Christmas. Mom wanted me to invite him over, but since his parents are divorced and he lives with his Grandparents, his family situation is complicated, so he can't come over for dinner Christmas eve, or Day.

We're lucky in that most of the family all moved out to Victoria in the end, so three of my dad's siblings and their children (where applicable) all live here.

This year will be the first year that my Oma doesn't join us, as she'll be flying first to Toronto on christmas eve to see her brother, and then on to hamburg to join all her sisters and neices and her son (my uncle) from Jordan for Christmas day.

It's so great! I'm glad for her that she's doing it. ^^

My schedule for the holidays usually goes like this:
23rd- Dinner/exchange gifts with my dad and his wife.
24th- Dinner/open gifts with mom and step-dad and sisters.
25th- Dinner/gifts with the rest of my family on dad's side.
26th- Dinner/gifts with mom's side of family and step-dad's family

On Christmas day all we have planned is bake pumpkin bread/cinammin buns and watch movies. xDD

Wind: Yeah, we don't have anything major planned either. Since I have such a small family, we're pretty chill. We only ever do anything if we have people visiting.

Heh, we're not even doing presents this year. I'm getting braces, so that's considered my present. xd

well, yeah, for me and mich it used to be nuts. Because her mom and stepdad moved down to the states, her dad and his new wife and all of her huge exteded family are in town, and then there's my dad and mom and all their extended family, and then there's my biological father and his complete loopiness which i stopped visiting for christmas when i was twelve.

But for me this christmas day, I'm making
baked sweet potatoes and ambrosia apples with brown sugar
buttered beats
baked brie and steamed asparagus
salmon pinwheels with pollack and cream cheese
with white wine and sparkling apple cider. ^^

and then we'll just unwrap presents and veg out, watch movies and have much steamy hawt sex. :B

It'll be a first for me for making all those things. My dad makes the beeeest buttered beets, and i've nver tried these pinwheels...

But it's just the two of us so i didn't want to make a huge roast. So, I asked my girl what she wanted to have for a main, and she asked for salmon, so pinwheels it is. ^^

I'm really looking forward to the sweet potatoes. ^^

Yeah, my best friend's mom makes salmon pinwheels. They are made of amazing and winnnn.

I'm also excited for having left overs of the other things, because i love them -and- they're good for me, which doesn't often happen. XD
