A lot of items have that, the older ones anyway. It's because when making .gifs transparent (At least in paint shop pro) you have to have a background color which is not in the actual item at all to make into 'make background transparent'. The most commonly used is lime green - but because of the pixels, and the fact you can only use one value to make transparent - there are some that have a slightly different hue than the rest of the file and thus aren't caught and made into transparent pixels, leaving you with a lime green outline.

I take weeks to finish most artworks. >_____> WEEKS. I think, back when I had the time (was still at uni, no work), I could manage to finish a full body full colour with BG in about 5 days? But that was NON-STOP ARTAGE... I got blisters on my hands. XD
