Do you ever do thumbnails for your larger/complex artworks? I find they're a really good way to see what you want to draw and how it looks on paper without investing too much time or effort into them. They may look small and crappy, the thumbnails, but no one has to look at them except you. XD They're also really good for working out proportions... which can be hard to sketch out on a large piece of paper if you haven't got something to refer back to.

Yeah, 2nd hand textbooks is a good idea. It doesn't need to be brand new, just the right one! Saves you lots too. XD So that money can go towards art and compie stuff!
