I'm not sure how to describe it, so I drew a picture (it's just a ref, so it's not really any good technique-wise, but it should convey my idea): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/DeathDestroyMe/OCs/outfit2ref.png I think that it might help to change the angle of the slant a bit, so that it goes through the mid-chest. It would seem more natural. The colors would still be the same, although you'd be able to see the black from the shorts (which is the point). There doesn't really need to be anything specific for a pose, and there doesn't need to be any background at all.
