Well, I've always started with the left eye and built around it, unless I'm doing full bodies. Then I use the body frames and work with that.

I studied those how to draw books and manga's or comic books. When I was younger I would start out tracing, then I would do the grid drawings, where the picture was small and on a grid then there was a large grid and you would draw what was in each square at a time to enlarge the picture.

Then I took some art classes in highschool.

Next I plan to go to art school but, that's how I've managed so far.

When I started out, like forever ago, I did fan art work of simple stuff then I started drawing ocs. I took some art classes all throughout school and I was taking a studio class, but I'm dropping it at end of quarter. I just free draw what i can think of, sometimes i use references if i can't think of a good pose or anything.

I used to do the whole measuring body parts thing too until i got good at just eyeballing it.
