Oooh well you better get to work on those things lol
Okay awesome <3 lol its Vaeru although Vrael sounds awesome too XD
I loooooove this pic though its absolutely awesome <3 I'm lucky to have gotten this great piece and the headshots X3

Luna: lol...yeah...
woops... redface ...i went back and fixed it in the previous post...sorry about that... sweatdrop
lol...i'm glad...i just wish i were better at anatomy...i had to take a refference pic of my hand for his...(since i was having trouble with it from my head...) and i realized just how off my general anatomy is...i really need to work on that...

hehe that's okay :3 easy mistake to make ^ ^
aww well you did a really good job :3
I look at my own hand all the time for that. And have done a lot of guesture drawings and figure studies to try to get better at that myself.

^_^'

thanks...i'm kinda gonna miss working on him a bit though...Vaeru is a fun character to draw! >_< (it's kinda why he's in both of the submissions...and if i do a third, he'd be in that too...lol...)

yeah, there's nothing wrong with using reffs at all! they're really useful, but it'd be nice to not have to use them and be able to do it from my head...it's just something i really noticed when i took that picture of myself...now granted, i am a woman posing for a man...but still...there are few rules which i either accidentally ignored or chose to for asthetics. (so the fact that his pose is a little funky is an accident, while the absence of light bouncing off of his bangs is purposefull...etc...)

if you have any good critiques of the image let me know! ^_^

aww well thank you X3 that makes me happy that you liked drawing him :3

Ooooh well even the really great artists used refs -nods-

I'll think about it, but I don't critique very often

^_^ i do very much!

yeah...let's face it, DaVinci even stole corpses and pretty much disected them to gain an intimate understanding of the human body...lol...(i don't think i could go that far...but then again, DaVinci is freaking amazing!!! so he can get away with it...)

you don't have to if you don't want to...was just putting it out there. ^_^

<3

that's true lol and really its silly for people to think artists shouldn't use reference. How would we know how to draw something unless we saw it and knew what it looked like, well for real things anyway.

Well if I think of something I will. I just have to say though that I loved the blood and the way the bracelets looked.

@ Aku: I do very much so like it. But there are as you say perks where you don't understand some things and etc. but I mean I learn as I work. As for wanting to practice Law, I'm thinking on it. However, I don't know if I wanna study 6 years to be a Lawyer ^^; I'm more content with being a Secretary.

Btw, awesome work on your progress art. I love those detailed wips shots O3O

Luna: well, even fantasy drawings are based on how we percieve/understand certain things in reality. for instance, wings and dragons. though people don't have wings, we have an understanding of what it would potentially look like if we did/the transition of forms. and dragons we base off of various lizards and creatures in reality but also there is a certain level of understanding of how the muscles would be formed and such that you would need to create a plausable looking dragon.

critiques don't always have to be negative, it's always good to know what's working and what isn't and why...^_^ i'm glad the blood was working...i'm not used to drawing blood, and i was slightly worried abou that...does it still look fresh? lol...

Kling: yeah, learning things while on the job is what adds up to experience and helps to make the overall time spent worthwhile... ^_^ my aunt is a lawyer, and just from the schooling and things necessary i know that i deffinately couldn't do it...plus i suck at arguing...my clients would always loose...lol...

thanks! ^_^ i'm really glad i decided to catalogue the progress like that...i'm thinking i'll have start doing that more often now...^_^

thats all true.. you need to know how living things work in order to make a fantasy creature believable looking.

that's true too -nods- it does look fresh X3 hehee I can only imagine what poor hapless fool got in his way.

@ Aku: Mhmm. So yehhh, when I first started working as a Legal Secretary I had no knowledge whatsoever, but having worked for a year now, I've learnt so much. But heh ^^; I totally couldn't be a Lawyer myself, I'd lose cases too.

And you're welcome ^_^ you did a really awesome job! And catalogue progress is raaad do mores <3

i was tempted to not put the glare in the front/change the background to a simple, flat color and finish drawing his other hand/thighs, but decided against it because i was thinking of having him hold a severed head by the hair or something like that in his currently unseen hand, and that would have changed the overall image dramatically...besides, the original image in my head never really included the left hand...only his right hand, face and chest really...

well I really like the way it looks. as amusing as a severed head would be though XD

Kling: that's great that you feel you learned a lot! ^_^ i'm sure that if you have an interest in becoming a lawyer, you'd do well though...partially because you're creative, so being as such, you would be able to look at things from a different/new perspective and potentially find loop-holes that other's couldn't see...it's just a matter of passion for the proffession... ^_^

the next few pieces i think i will because i have to come up with a concept for "web art" for my class...and i'm thinking about using the idea of "recycled art" and just taking a bunch of things and cataloguing how they change and can be re-used/manipulated...i'm not too sure on that concept though...if you have any good ideas, let me know...otherwise i might just have to resort to "hobo-burgers"...and yes, that is exactly what it sounds like...lol...

Luna: lol...i find it amusing that you think severed heads are funny...

ah well... I have a very strange sense of humor..
