Claire, as far as I know, there's no way to get rid of the anchor if that's what you're talking about?

Or maybe what you want to do is end that line and start a new one? I would either do a "right click >> stroke" so that I don't have to deal with mulitiple pen things. Or maybe you just have to press enter and then click on the "Paths" tab?
