gonk This is why I never show anyone my writing!! T.T *Clings to it* gonk

Can you copyright OCs? o.o...

i dunno.
is there a category for it in the registration office?

Bullshit like this makes me tired. Its amazing how much they can make people put up with. Who will this help?
The only differnce will be that people wont be able to fight back when they steel your work. scream
Just watch, if it doesn't already there will be a nice little fee to go along with copyrighting anything.

And people wonder why I'm a recluse. Ha!

big corporates.
apparently, i heard that if the bill does get passed, search engines like google had planned to use many works unregistered for their own purposes.

but for now, the bill had died!
good thing it died!

but there is the promise that it will come back eventually.
because the person who proposed this bill believe so strongly that artwork should be share.
and money from making artist registered their works can benefit the economic depression! (just my opinion. but yes. it feel like it was implied)

Art should be shared but, at the owner's consent. Why cant the big companys just buy the art? wouldn't it be cheaper than buying senators?

the fact is that there are many form of art. (photograph, writing a, music and such)
and if you buy senator, you buy them once!
for art, you can abused this more than 1 time.

compare the benefit from using (for example) 10k of unregistered arts and only have to pay a handful of politicians for the right to use it.
so yeah, that is 1 side of it.

another side is the registration process. who pocket will those money go to?
this bill is like forcing artists who normally dont pay to copyright their stuffs now have to pay or they might become a victim. and each artist have more than 1 series of art. just imagine, $5 each.

now, new department created to do the registration process. this mean new jobs for people who need it. and guess what, the unemployment rate just increased recently ^^" a very convienent way to solve part of this problem.

Well I still think its croked as hell but it doesn't really affect me though.
Are you sure its not just for commercial artistree?

it applied to all since even if it aimed at commercial artists, who guarantee the protection for noncommercial artists? ^^"

stare They must have something better to do with their time.

aw, puhlease. ^^

non commercial artists are basically draw for a hobby while commercial ones are living by drawing.

and we enjoy the work of those commercial artists too! if they die because of something close to it, the one who suffer the loss is us who enjoy their works.

Yeah but dont they alredy get their work copyrated/insured etc?
"die because of something close to it" ???

lack of employments XD
they draw and dont get paid? 0.o
can you imagine that? ^^
you do know artists are generally poor people, right?
and now they also have to register everything they make that seem to have potential for commercial use. who gonna pay for them?

and this new law require registration of works to be protected.
it rely on database of registered work which we will have to register to them because most copyrighted art that you think are copyrighted are actually only copyrighted because of berne law which provide us artist copyrights to out stuffs the moment we created it to when we died + a few years later for it to expire (i ithnk it was 70 years). and guess what? according to the bill, those are not counted because they are not on a database. imagine those DA artist :3

anyhow, i am no good at explain this. you better read others article about it.

Hence the term 'starving artist'.
I do hope it doesn't go through.
Whats Berne law?

Sucks so much.....and i have no idea if you can copyright OCs...

Proof that its okay to call guys cute *dances* XD
Anonymous Source:
Of course! Girls are pretty or beautiful. Boys are handsome or cute.
for now, the bill was killed so you dont have to worry, kimmi.
apparently about 10 big art organizations helped fight back against it.

but they do promise that the bill will make a come back sometimes =w="
(in another form, somehow)
so we need to be careful in the future.

and yes, megumi, starving artists XD
