✖ I am only interested in HIGH QUALITY art of my three OCs.
I am also very, very interested in couple art of my male OC, Darren,
with either of the females. More information listed below.

✖ Throughout the first page, I will give suggestions on what I want.
Do not ignore this, because if I give a suggestion, it means I actually
want that art work done.

✖ The art I get here will be posted on nonprofit sites where I'll be
advertising my story. For example, I might put up a couple shot
on my profile on fictionpress where my story has been submitted.
I will credit where I got the art from, of course.

✖ Anything in quote form on the first page is an excerpt from my
story. I have included the excerpts to give you guys a more in depth
view of my characters. This is a first person PoV story where the
PoV switches between the characters during a chapter change.
Whoever is speaking at the moment in the quote, I'll include the name.

She has wide, innocent brown eyes.
She's the color of creamed coffee.
Her hair is long, curly and brown.
She has very soft features.
She has a heart shaped face.
She's a tiny, not-that-curvy, 5'5" nineteen year old female.
Her breast size is a B cup, which is small, but not that flatchested.

He has very light, dangerous and piercing blue eyes.
He's slightly pale.
His hair is messy and black.
He has intimidating features.
He has the oval facial shape, much like actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
But, for God's sake, do not make him look like the guy, they just share a similar facial shape.
He's a well built 5'9" nineteen year old male.
He is not that muscular, but he does have lean noticeable muscles.

[Darren and Cynthia]

These two are the main character's of a book I'm currently writing and I would
like some art of the two of them together. No, they're not romantic. In fact,
their relationship is pretty hostile. Maybe a shot of the two of them where
they're close, and he's roughly handling her in some way. Like, maybe,
have him behind her with a smug or hostile expression while possessively
(tightly) clutching her shoulder with the right hand and gripping her forearm
with the left while she looks on with subtle fear. Not over the top fear, just
enough to show she's scared of the situation. Another more aggressive
suggestion is to have him choke her or hold a knife to her throat. This
happens a few times within the story when Cyn gets particularly defiant. Or
maybe have him clutching her chin possessively and forcing her to stare into
him. Just something where he's possessive of her and she's not liking it at
all. Draw something that will give off a clear, "You're mine." message.

Something like this or something.
See how menacing he looks and how he's handling her?
Yeah, something like that.

Or a milder approach would be to have him tightly clutching her hair and
keeping her beside him with his eyes closed as if he's taking in the scent
of her. Darren eventually develops unrequited feelings for her, it's kinda like
Stockholm Syndrome but reversed. :v




[Darren and Anna]

If you're not comfortable or good at drawing hostile situations, you can
draw Darren and Anna. These two do not have a romantic relationship
either, but they do have a deep, almost obsessive love for each other.
Throughout the book they're shown meeting at a cliff to throw stones
over the edge and making wishes. It's a tradition for them. A suggestion
could be them sitting or standing on the grassy edge of the cliffs holding
hands, but have her fade away. Almost like she's a ghost. Why? Anna is
only in the first four chapters of the book because she later kills herself by
jumping off of that very cliff, setting the plot of the story in motion. She is
still very important to main character Darren, so I'd still love some art of
them together. I have no real guild lines for what you do with them, except
include how close they are somehow in the picture.

[Just Darren]

You could draw him pointing a gun, holding a knife, or just looking pretty
mentally not all there. Having a waist up drawing of him holding a lighter
with the words "The Red" on it, looking creepy, maybe with a mischievousness
smirk would be AMAZING. He's a cocky sonofabitch that will not hesitate to kill
if it serves him. He is a very violent human being, haunted by a very violent
childhood. Do what you will with this information when considering how you'd
draw him as an individual. That means DO ******** NOT have him smelling
flowers or something out of character like that.

[Just Cynthia]

Very strong willed girl, but she's also kinda timid and bashful. She believes in
justice and disregards her own safety if she feels she has to. Must be the
result of her father being a respected cop. She's sarcastic and has quick wit,
and usually doesn't filter herself when something files her up. If you want to draw
Cynthia as an individual, you can have lot of freedom with her, since her main
role is just to be Darren's hostage (and the main protagonist). She's mainly there
to make him question himself. Maybe draw her with chains around her hands. That'd
be a very figurative and neat drawing to have.

[Just Anna]

She's very cynical, and frequently tells the reader she's only happy in
the presence of Darren. Despite this, she's also very confident. Make
fun of her? You'll be shot down with her quick wit and no-bullshit attitude.
Yet, she also walks away from physical conflict, deeming it not worth the
trouble. She's the one that frequently pulls Darren out of violent situations.
She acts as his calmer. Out of the two, she's also the more childish one.
She's playful and always out for some sort of adventure. Despite this,
Anna is extremely depressed. By the end of chapter four, she kills herself
by jumping off of a cliff. She jumps with a smile, believing she'll find peace.
You can draw her any way you want, since Anna has a wide array of
different personalities. You can draw her getting ready to kill herself or you
can draw her with a smile on her face doing something free spirited.

[Feel creative?]

You can include your own different scenarios than the one's I've suggested above, you can be as creative as you want. Here's some tips on items you can use:

Darren's weapons of choice through out the book is a gun and a small
pocket knife. Fire is also a big thing with him, so something with him and
a lighter can work. He is a hostile character, and even though he won't hurt
Cyn, he's pulled out these weapons on her once and awhile. You will earn big
points with me if you somehow include a picture of Anna somewhere
near or on Darren since she plays a very, very huge role in my story.

Cynthia frequently plays with a small bracelet on her wrist. It's silver with an
hourglass dangling from it. She has no other special objects throughout the story.
She is, to put it bluntly, a victim that's been kidnapped. But no, don't draw her
beaten and dirty, she's not in prison, she's just being forced along on Darren's
murdermission.

Anna has this real big thing with birds. Any kind of bird, really. She says she
envies the freedom they have and she spends most of her time outside bird
watching. So many you can include a picture of her holding a bird.

You can also include figurative images. For example, the chains around
Cynthia's wrists that I mentioned before. Or you could draw Anna and Darren
holding hands, falling from the cliff. Or you could draw Darren on his knees with
his skin cracking, as if to say he's falling apart. Or you could draw Anna with
a bird flying out of her mouth, or of her peeling into a flock of birds. I don't mind
you being figurative with your art.

The Red is a thriller that explores the world of mental illness, grief, crime, love and revenge.

Friends since the impressionable age of ten, Darren and Anna have been completely inseparable. They shut out the rest of the world because when you have your soul mate, who else matters? They need no one, nothing, but each other. But when a sudden tragedy forces them apart, lives suffer in a violent spiral of murder and revenge.

Cynthia

When I see him, I can’t help but think that he’s the very personification of the color red. He is the hottest of all the colors, able to burn his victims with a single glance. He is the symbolism of rage, violence, and warfare. He is the very shade of needlessly spilled blood on once clean floors. Yet, despite this, he glows a bright hue of devoted passion. He holds a passion so strong, so deep within his heart, that maybe red is the only color he’s able to see.

Darren

I latched my free hand onto her neck and push my weight into my hand, constricting her air flow. Her tiny fingers instantly released their hold on me and clawed at my grip. Cynthia's wild brown eyes looked at me with a mixture of surprise and fear, silently begging me to let her go. When our eyes locked, my chest began to tighten unusually. Whether it is in anticipation or simply anger, I’m not at all sure. The intensity and familiarity of her brown gaze caused me to disregard the need to breathe all together.

“L-let me go, ple—,” she began to plead with me while her nails dug into my skin. The rest of her words were lost in a pathetic gasping noise, and her eyes began to cloud over with a waterfall of desperate tears. I was instantly reminded of Anna’s sad, wet eyes the moment before she jumped out of my life.

Anna

So, what did I wish for? We were currently in the middle of winter, but in the presence of Darren, I swear I could almost catch a whiff of the morning spring time air. He screamed of arrogance and impulsive behaviors, yet he allowed me to see a deeper side of him that shined with compassion and loyalty. In those quiet moments when he held my hand, I could almost feel his heart beating... reminding me that he’d always be there. And no one, nothing, would tear me away from that wonderful beating sound. He was the very essence of peace, the very definition of the calm.
