Well I think it's a matter of
preference?
Some artists like the trade
because it helps them:
1) Keep track of commishes
2) Make sure customers have GG

Other artists that don't do it
may not care so much?
So depends on you c:

Prompt #3O - Exasperated
❝ Akashi Seijurou sighed heavily as he opened the door to his dorm room. It was late, and his duties had extended far longer than he had anticipated. Pinching the bridge of his nose, the red emperor sighed again and put away his coat; there was nothing more he wanted than a quick hot shower and sleep. Tomorrow was even busier and he had to keep up.

However, despite the lateness of the hour, the lights in the kitchen were still on.

Hansel poked his head out from behind the door, his eyes lighting up as he realized that Akashi was finally home. Grinning to himself happily, the small brunette ducked back inside and emerged a few seconds later with Akashi's favorite meal, kept warm by some tin foil.

'Akashi!' he chirruped, 'I've saved your dinner--'

'I don't want it,' the red emperor interrupted, bringing his hand to his forehead as he scowled, 'I'm sorry.'

Hansel's face fell, but he nodded anyway, 'okay! I'll leave it for Akashi in the fridge, okay? Right where it usually is, okay? Eat it whenever you want-'

Akashi's irritation spiked.

'Hansel, I said I don't want it," he said in exasperation, his voice colder than Hansel had ever heard it before, 'can't you listen?'

There was silence, and then a very small, very quiet, 'okay. I'm sorry, Akashi.'

The brunette turned around abruptly and headed back into the kitchen, where Akashi swore he could hear little sniffles. Before he could do anything to confirm it though, Hansel emerged once again and brushed by his roommate with his head down, eyes averted.

'Good night,' he murmured and Akashi's throat closed up.

'Hansel,' he started, 'Hansel, no.. come here.'

The brunette paused, then, very obediently, turned around and complied. Akashi, his irritation disappearing, reached out and patted his roommate's head affectionately.

'I'm sorry,' he whispered, but there was no response. 'Did you work hard on that dish?' There was more silence, then a small hiccup and a nod, eyes still averted. Akashi couldn't help but smile now; Hansel was always looking out for him, wasn't he?

Hansel was always right there beside him, wasn't he?

'Thank you,' he said, lifting his face up so that he can meet those eyes once again, 'I'm sorry for getting angry like that; will you make me it again tomorrow?'❞
