Hello! I'm keiiii, the one with four i's. I'm here to give you free art.

Here's how it works. Every Thursday, I will set aside some time to do some free art. What you need to do is to make a post, including the following information:

Required Information

1. Reference picture. Picture of the avatar you want me to draw.

2. Keywords. Give me up to three keywords describing what you want -- e.g. happy/ action-y, or blood/ insane/ nighttime.

Do not put words that describe the "level" of art, like fullbody/ detailed, because those are up to me to decide.

I will try to use all three keywords. However, sometimes one of the words just might not work with the idea I have. If that happens, I may end up only using two of the words. My creative freedom will always trump your specifications. Fair enough for free art, huh?

You do NOT need to post it on a Thursday. Any day of the week is fine, though I would recommend Tuesdays or Wednesdays, so I can review your requests for a day or two and pick which ones inspire me the most.

You may post up to two forms every week.

--- ►Do NOT bug me for free art. Don't send me freebie request PMs. Just post your request here using the correct format, and wait like everyone else. Things like begging, nagging, excessive butt-kissing or sob stories will only hurt your chances.

--- ►If you are interested in commissioning me, Hideously Expensive Bribes are always an option. Please feel free to PM me to discuss.

--- ►Please post legibly. I'm not talking about broken grammar or chatspeak. I'm talking about text that's really light-colored or very tiny, as they are difficult to read. This also goes for post formats that impede readability (easy-to-read post formats are fine). If your post is too hard to read, I might just skip your post entirely, which means you will probably not get any art from me.

--- ►Never, ever hotlink my images!! Always upload them to your own server/ photobucket/ etc.

--- ►While this thread is mainly about ME giving YOU free art, if you ever feel like giving out some free art instead of receiving, go right ahead! However, please don't draw my avatar. If you feel like doing free art too, you can always draw others in the thread. Or you can draw my OCs (from my comic). Just don't draw my avatar. XD

F A Q ◀---------------


--- ►Can you draw my OC instead of my avatar?
Possibly. Here's the deal: I can only accept requests that follow the avi art request format. I just don't have the time to read all the OC info. Therefore, please DO NOT request OC art unless you feel comfortable with the idea of me running wild with a couple of ref images and three keywords.

--- ►What do you use to make those pictures?
Adobe Photoshop CS4 (I hate it when people call it "Adobe" as Adobe the company has made multiple graphic-related programs), a Wacom Intuos tablet, and occasionally Corel Painter IX.

--- ►Did you go to an art school?
Nah. I went to a "normal" school and got a degree in linguistics.

--- ►I have this idea that I'd love you to draw, and I can't capture it in just three keywords!
Paying me to do a commission may be the only way, then. Please see the next question.

--- ►Do you take commissions?
I'd be happy to answer serious inquiry PMs about commissions. However, please be advised that my services are extremely expensive. (If you're not familiar with bribe prices on Gaia... you may be in for a surprise.)

--- ►Can you teach me how to draw?
No. However, I can offer some critiques. Feel free to post your art here (just one or two at a time… don't go crazy) if you're interested. I prefer to critique using redlines and paintovers rather than words -- just a little heads up since I know some people don't like having someone else draw over their art.

--- ►Will you add me to your friend list?
Please don't take it personally if I decline your request. It does not mean I hate you! Some people prefer to limit their friend lists to folks whom they actually know very well. I'm one of those people.

--- ►Do you do art trades?
No, but I might change my mind in the future.

--- ►Will you consider joining my charity art auction?
NEVER! Seriously, please don't ask. The answer will always be a 'No.'

See, I LOVE making someone's day better with free art. I wish I could do it all the time (too bad I only have 24 hours per day, just like everyone else!). When I'm working on a freebie, I imagine the delighted reactions of the recipient, and it makes me happy.

But with charity auctions… it's not the same. Knowing that I'm spending my time and creative energy to make someone happy NOT with my art, but with the profit generated from my art, it just doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling. Know what I mean? It doesn't help that I have had bad experiences with charity auctions in the past.
