Aww thanks. I haven't done digital painting in a more anime-style since last summer, probably. I do art during the school year but it's newspaper editorial art so the style is pretty different and usually black and white.

Yea.. I'm not very good at raising a lot of gold. So I try to be strategic with what pricy items I save up for. Though the low/mid range RIG items are such a blessing.~

>_o The ranges of greens, yea. So far I only have one avatar in green/black because of that. Even so I had to try and blend a range of greens to make it work. Ah well, the more bold and bright ones are starting to make a breakthrough, like those expensive bold purples.

@Fairytale- I know, right? It's such a brilliant purple, and I'm not much of a fan of the color.

@Sans Joy - Peanut butter in ramen..? That could be pretty good, yea. If I did that, I'd probably doctor it up with more things to make a more complete sauce. But I think I'll definitely give that a try sometime.~

I love mixing up some Sprite, soy sauce, ginger sauce, little bit of spicy mustard and hot sesame oil for a sauce.. I know the Sprite sounds crazy, but Sprite works really well with soy sauce (and other things) to make a basic sauce for ramen/meat.

Last Summer?
That's a pretty long while to be away from an art style.

Yeah last summer. I don't really have much time to do art for fun during the school year. And I usually don't do an anime style for newspaper editorials because I just don't feel like it fits the style of the paper, so I try to do something more realistic or cartoony/stylized.

And I'm doing it because I work as an illustrator for the school paper at my college. I used to write articles but then I started doing illustrations when the position opened up. I have to work on really tight deadlines (like doing five to ten drawings in one night) so I don't really have a lot of time to experiment or enjoy myself. Now that I'm on summer vacation I'm hoping to develop my painting skills more.

Oh wow, I've never heard of adding Sprite. Lol I'm a really bad cook, like I don't know anything about seasoning or sauces or anything, so when my roommate suggested peanut butter I was like, "Yay, easy flavoring!"

I might try what you suggested though, that sounds cool.

If you want something simple with ramen.. Try cooking up your ramen in a very little bit of water (Don't use the flavor packet). In the bowl that you're going to eat it out of, put the flavor packet in, a little bit of oil (Any kind works fine, but if you want to add a little tasty heat, try hot sesame oil!), and some soy sauce. But not much! Just enough to make a paste when mixed with the powder. Put the noodles on top (after getting rid of the water) and then stir it around.. You've got lazy/poor man's pancit canton (A Filipino dish similar to just ordinary ramen.)

Or scramble up some eggs and toss them in the ramen. That's always tasty too~

I'm not the best cook myself, but I love to experiment. I start with flavors I know that work well together and try to go from there.

And it's nice to hear you're trying to branch out your art styles. I'm doing the same lately.. I'm really trying to get better at 'lineless' drawing.

This painting style of yours is absolutely gorgeous~ (I can't believe this is what your artwork looks like when you say you're out of practice!) If you're still looking for characters to draw, could I throw out my girl? o u o

Also, I've never heard of putting sprite or peanut butter into ramen...I wonder what kind of sauce would result if you mixed those together. (Adding other things as well, of course.) I've never tried it, but I hear some people like adding hot sauce to theirs?

Hot sauce can be good too! That might work well with the peanut butter, actually.

I'm always doctoring up my ramen.. If I have deli meat ham that I haven't used up, I'll slice that up and throw it in too. But especially eggs. They work really well, and it gives you a good source of protein!

Not sure how the Sprite and peanut butter would work together.. I usually use Sprite when I need a little sweetness to balance the savory/spice or I don't want to dilute it with water. I learned about using Sprite from my boyfriend.. His family uses it in a bunch of savory dishes. Like Adobo chicken (or pork if you'd rather). Soo good.. You'd never know it had Sprite in it from looking at it. Or tasting it.
