he's not exactly a fighter unless it's for someone else. The one who found him actually just got lucky, because dragon was a bit lost and he happen to find him.

How did he get out?

it was around the time he got the scar over his eye. he freaked out because he couldn't see so he was useless to the demon in that state. The demon took him to a healer that wasn't in hell. the healer let dragon go while the demon was looking away, needless to say the healer was killed sad
