A bit of research. Since I still don't have my chemistry major not any of the hard research.

Other people in the lab worked with metals which was why most of our glassware had to be soaked in nitric acid for a while before using again. Metals can stain things at a chemical level, altering results of our analytical studies.

I remember I stained a stir bar with gold. I don't think they ever got that gold off.
PS: No, it didn't look golden, it had brown in the cracks.

I was never a huge fan of scanners. The ones we had were always second-hand so lived short lives after getting here.

I have a good scanner! It's lasted me a long time and I've had very few problems with it. I probably just need to calibrate it.
