I stumbled upon a fun idea last night. I was bored, loafing about here, and decided I wanted to draw something. I picked a user at random and drew an avi portrait of their character and sent it to them as a gift art.
I like to surprise people I do and don't really know with gifts, so it was fun for me to do, and it also got me practicing again. I'll most likely be continuing this random gift art idea, even though I still have yet to find out if my first victim liked her picture or not. whee
I've started this thread in the hopes of encouraging other people to do so as well. I'll be posting the results of my random victims here, and welcome any other artists who would like to join me. For younger, just starting out artists, it would be a good way to get experience and get your name known...for the vets, it's a chance to lighten someone's day without their knowing. 3nodding My first piece of gift art I was given was a total surprise, and it completely brightened my day. *^_^* I want to pass that on. 3nodding heart
Now for the Rules!:
1.) No payments are accepted for these RAA's.
2.) No requests are accepted. Selection of your victim must be random! A little guidance is ok...ie you might want to make sure they would like a gift commission before you do one for them.
3.) Be sure to send the actual victim a pm with their picture in it, or a link back to the victim posting in the thread! 3nodding some people I know can't be on Gaia everyday day, and if they don't get a pm about their pictures, they could possibly never know about it! 3nodding
4.) DO NOT under any circumstances, SPAM IN THIS THREAD. That is why the lounge was created. 3nodding heart
Here are some questions you should ask before you choose:
1.) Do they frequent the Art Discussion areas?
2.) Are they a "commission whore"?
3.) Do they have a large sig with com pics already, or do they have a separate page to link to?
4.) Have they started a thread or multiple threads asking for commissions?
These are just guidlines, and by no means set in stone...*^_^* I just don't want anyone getting in trouble for sending an art pic to someone who really doesn't want one. 3nodding Choose your friends! 5-17-04 We are open again! heart Thank you everyone for your support during this weekend. It really means a lot to me and now I think the thread has been recreated for the better. 3nodding Unfortunately the creation of an "Untouchables" List was necessary. Again, in the end I think for the better because it will only serve to return this place back to it's roots and original intent.
