When you have so many of those old drawings that you think are horrible and would rather throw away, but all your friends beg and plead and bid for them, sometimes even fight over them...

(Note: I'm guilty of a few of the previously listed things sweatdrop , but this one is something I DO. I am more of a collector because I honestly don't think mine is very good.) crying

XD I know how that feels a security officer at my work took mine away and I almost cried it was like my arm got chopped off.

...you walk down the hallway with all the band/chorus/art/etc. rooms and a teacher passes by you and says, "heya, so-and-so"....
...you don't know this teacher.

you know your an artist when....
...as you play video games and watch movies and TV shows, you study the looks of the characters and the costume designs....
...later someone will be looking through your sketchbook and see the thing you were looking at with some mods. added to it

you know your an artist when...
...somewhere in the movie that you were just watching with your family or friends there was a really cool poster in one of scenes...
...later you will pause the movie just to look at the poster later and draw it.

you know your an artist when..
...right around christmas time people will ask you what you want for christmas...
...you'll reply, "sketchbooks"
...they don't know why because they've jsut bought you about 10 new ones last christmas
...little do they know that you've already use all 10 and then some

you know your an artist when...
...you see a tutorial on deviantart or something of the like...
... you quickly switcvh away from that page because you've already seen the tutorial or it isn't all that helpful...

...You go into a zone whenever you draw/paint/etc. and completely forget about everything around you.
...You feel oddly happy and satisfied after you just finished a really difficult work that turned out really well.
...You see random things and people and think, "I would LOVE to draw/paint/etc. that!!"
...You show your love for your favorite movie/show by drawing umpteen million pieces of fanart.
...You've been known to talk to yourself/tear your hair out/bang your head against the wall/etc. when a piece you're working on doesn't turn out the way you wanted.
...You don't usually bring your art to school because you always get random people looking over your shoulder and gawking at the art.
...You refer to your drawings as "like your children" if you don't have any real kids.
...You start listing the reasons why you know you're an artist and begin to seriously question your mental health.

Oh wow! I am so glad I found this! 99.9999999999999% of this completely describes me! I always have art supplies thrown around my room, pencil shavings everywhere, and recently broke the habit of bringing my sketchbook with me every single time i get inside the car! xd
