well i wouldn't exactly consider myself an artist.

I developed my drawing style through looking at a couple of 'how to draw anime' kind of books. Dan Okum i think his name was, and Mario Galea (magicalhelmet on here and DA) made the books who helped me. I just do drawings when inspiration hits me. I don't really care if people say i'm not an artist, i don't care if people call my stuff 'not art', or anything like that. all i really care about is that at least one person likes my stuff. i make 1 person happy, i've done my job. :3

tips: LOOK and keep drawing. My summer homework last year was to draw at LEAST 10 hours a week. That's the only way to get good, really. biggrin
And I call myself a 'self-proclaimed artist', so that way, I can be an artist, without being so ohh, I'm an ARTIST about it. XD

im not much of an artist myself but i draw...sometimes...the best.....
my tip is that make sure u have a good outlining to make it look like the light is shining in a direction

People is what they want to be,and in my opinion if you already do all that and yet dont call yourself and artist them U'll never be an artist.Its called beliving in yourselft if you dont belive you ARE an artist you may not have what it takes to be one.And yes the moment you start drawing not for the fun of it but to become better you ARE and artist.

I think artist as a broad term used to describe anyone who enjoys creating some sort of art and hopes to improve upon themselves. Of course there are adjectives used to describe what sort of level you've acheived (amateaur/professional, etc).
I consider myself something of a surreal/conceptual photographer. Also an amateaur surrealist painter. In general I'm a 'art student' even though I'm in highschool mainly because I aim to use art as my career.
