Tablet help please?

What exactly is a tablet, do you draw directly on the tablet and save it on the tablet? Or is it like drawing on the tablet but it is projected and saved on your computer?

To put it simple: It's a mouse in the shape of a pen (and paper). So moving the pen over the tablet is just like moving the mouse over your desk.

Of course there's more to it, (like pen pressure) and there are even tablets which are more like monitors you can draw directly on, but the basic tablet works just like a mouse.

There are also different kinds. It really depends on how much you want to be able to draw and what is most affordable.

There are the tablets that are not on the screen so its like moving a mouse around.
There are kinds that draw on the screen, as was mentioned, if you are looking for one, this will help, it helped me!
