That reminds me...



I'm a horribly messy crafter (knitting needles under the bed covers, resin mess all over the kitchen counter, jewelry pieces tangled and tossed about all over the desk, bits of string and fabric shoved under the sewing table...), but a rather clean artist. I'm pretty proud of that. hahaha.

The only time I make a mess is with charcoal, and that's only my hands getting dirty.

Clean artist (boring old paper or on the computer) but very messy lifestyle (I only just found my wallet since summer break... under my mattress). I'm okay with charcoal but I'm not a very good painter because of the need to keep my workspace clean.

At school, I usually would have 3 differnet tools, ruler, measuring tape, my sketch pad, pencils, and pens all over like half my table lol

My current workspace... I have a sculpture in a cup (yes, a cup...) cheesit boxes, woodcarving tools, sculpting tools, colored pencils, glue sticks, a beer, clay, wire, a few gems and pliers all over my desk that also is my laptop/school desk. xD

I need a studio +_+


cause half of my other supplies is still inhabitating my car... [steel rods, a sculpture, more tools, 2 sketchpads...]

and that's not including all my paint that is in my mom's crafting area.




when I work though I'm generally clean. lol at least at home. paint stays on the paper, brushes and containers get cleaned, etc.

and somehow in that mess she knows where EVERYTHING is.
I'm so clean and tidy in everything else, I want to make as big a ******** mess as possible.

I always plan to be clean and tidy but I always end up creating a mess. Still, I find it easier to just clean up as you go along or you'll end up with the artwork done and the rest of your work space covered in rubbish.

im a pretty clean artist, i usualy just use paper and markers and dont make a mess besides markers all over the floor. when i oil paint though i end up getting it all over me somehow, and its so much work to get off of me, out of my hair, and off my clothes. i dont get anything on me when i use watercolors or paint little clay charms though!

In my print studio, expect there to be lino/wood shavings everywhere when I'm cutting. When it comes to printing ,even just looking at my ink will get me covered xD

Otherwise (in my bedroom)I have screenprint transparencies and crappy photos when I took freshman darkroom photography strung randomly on my walls, and a semester's worth of figure drawings rolled up and put under a desk, and excess paper and prints teetering on top of my bookshelf.

I'm not super messy when I'm doing art because I OCD organize everything before I start and put newspaper/ plastic where it belongs to cover stuff up.

It's actually my clothes. My nice new clothes.

I can't keep s**t off them.

Nice new sweater? Got rubber cement on the sleeves. It only came off on one sweater.

New house coat? Got green acrylic paint on that.

New shirt? Just add charcoal or plaster to complete that ******** look.

New Jeans? Add more acrylic paint, but make it black this time!

Also, my fitted sheet for my mattress. I gave it a brilliant new hole with an exacto-knife because I'M JUST THAT SPECIAL.
