Well, my passion in art isnt really a passion. its what i do, who i am and most likely who i'll always be. My life so far has revolved around surviving off my artistic abilities from Photographer to Interior Designer, Floral assistant to art teacher, commercial artist to world of advertisment.. I guess what im saying is, without art, i would be nothing, ya know? its always been that one thing that ive been able to turn to when all else fails. the one thing that has helped me cope through many hard times in my life and lastly, the one thing that keeps be going, striving to be better and to suceed at any cost.

Some would call that a passion. But i understand what ur saying. It's just part of who you are. biggrin
thanx 4 posting. 3nodding
im more interested in drawing when I have nothing else to do. I don't know why I went to another art school just because it gets on my nerves when the teachers are like "you there, draw!" because, frankly, i dont feel like it, but that's beside the point. Art is pretty much my back-up plan. All my friends and teachers [even random people i meet on the train] are like "woah, you're so good, youre going to make a really good artist and you're going to be really good at your job!" when they're looking at my doodles on math homework of vampire fangs
...
is this a sign or should i still use it as a backup?
im confused...
I love art, drawing especially. Ever since I was little no matter how many times my career choices changed, artist was the one that always stuck. Even though I'm certain that I'd fail as a teacher, if I were an art teacher I might not fail. ^^ No matter what I end up doing when Im older I want my job/career to be art related, or computer related, or even better, both. smile

Art is certainly not just a hobby. Art is so much more important than people realize.
We need art for advertising, and for designing new things like furniture and buildings and cars. But more importantly to me, art makes people think. People can realize things about themselves and about the world around them when they see a work of art that they connect with.
Art to some people is the artist's soul coming out through their work, and to some, art is simply asthetically pleasing and makes things look pretty. Either way art is very important and very much worth spending your life doing. That's what I think anyway. Art however, along with drama and things like that have been and still are becoming more acceptaple as proffessions.
If you love what you do enough, and you have the will to get better at it, then you can do anything. biggrin I love ART!!!!

Hey, I agree. Art is not just a hobby, and only if people could realize that it's that important to the world. xd
I don't know about you guys, but often times I get this Uncontrollable Urge to draw or create. It's gets to the point where I can't stop no matter what. I have to keep drawing.

I never really get the urge to draw, but I feel at piece when I slice his ******** kackles w/a long and shiny blade of torment and possibly despair with the ferosity of 1,000 suns. Which is the equivalent to my Ballsssssss.

OK, can you take it to the chatterbox please? -_-

@ Topic - I think art is just such a great outlet for emotion and thought processes. Especially when you talk about something on the lines of surrealism and abstract art; You have to have a wonderful mind to create surrealism.
But that's prolly saying a little from the point, so: For some people that think that art is just as easy as sitting down and drawing something, that's not so for everyone. And it's not as unpopular as people sometimes say it is. (Eavesdropping skills at work~)
Artists who take time to learn anatomy and perspective, shading techniques, understanding center of gravity, etc. expand their knowledge past someone else that isn't an artist, and I think most of those skills can be transferred into another career.
...God, I feel like that's really sappy. xD;; -chuckle-

Sorry if this seems more... rambly than anything else. D| -sits-
When I was a child I always watched cartoons. I even made characters that I would dream to be part of that show (I was a stupid child 4laugh ) I started to draw and make up stupid stories, but then I stopped drawing because I couldn't draw very well. Then in 6th grade I bought "How To Draw Manga" at a book fair and learned some techniques from it. After that, I've been very much into drawing and manga through out middle school. Towards the end of 8th grade, I watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and I was amazed by the graphics. So I decided to go towards realism for drawing. Fullmetal Alchemist inspired me to become an animator, so thats what I'm going towards for. Flash animators like Egoraptor and Lazymuffin has also inspired me.

So yeah, I have a passion for art, but its going to take a long time to get better at it sweatdrop

Art is a huge passion of mine and is one of the only things I do feel passionate about and really enjoy. I've thought about this for most of my life and have decided that if I did anything but something art-related for a career I'd HATE myself. I'd be so unhappy that I'd rather not work at all and starve. So it's an art-related career for me!
I believe everyone should get into careers they're passionate about but there are some jobs that NEED to be done that I'm sure no one likes.
