High-functioning Bunny

Maybe its must me, but I've gotten extremely sick of the tired art cliche of artists using "unconventional" tools like ballpoint pen or crayola markers or crayons. Its just not that difficult of a thing to do if you already know how to manipulate shape and color with other mediums. Its entirely gimmick, and not even a very good one. Those artists who paint with blood or lipstick or other things that aren't technically meant as writing utensils are a step up, but usually still gimicky when the subject matter is irrelevant to the medium. Or even when it is relevant because its so easy to place meaning on everything.

I think its good to experiment with mediums, conventional or not, but I hate it when people try to 'sell' me on how cool and 'impressive' something is because it was done in crayon. If you can draw a face with a number two pencil, you could probably draw it in the dirt too.

Its definitely impressive to people who don't really draw or are younger.
