Welcome to Gaia! ::

It's my first time using a graphic tablet.

At first I thought it'll be like.

"Meh, this'll be easy"

But when I drew a line with it. The line is..so...so... curvy? you know it's not straight! It looks bumpy.

Is that normal for a first timer?

Yes and no.
A graphics tablet is a different tool than traditional media, with its own quirks and sometimes one heck of a learning curve. It's going to handle differently than anything you may be used to.

Bumpy lines might be an issue with the drivers; make sure you've installed the latest drivers for your computer from your tablet's manufacturer to rule this issue out. You can find your tablet's drivers usually from the manufacturer's site. What brand and model tablet do you have?
Sometimes art software gets finicky. That just takes playing with different settings, usually. What software are you using?

In case the issue is not due to software but you just need to learn to use it, here are some nice warmup exercises that could help you get better grip of your tablet.

Celestial Dog

another really good way to get the hang of the hand eye coordination you need for a tablet is to just color stuff in. don't worry about necessarily drawing right away, just try coloring. it sounds crazy, but it does help you figure out how much control you need to use and how your tablet will behave.

Ruthless Hellraiser

Another issue could be the speed at which you are moving. If you want to draw lines zoom out of the piece and move your had faster. Also the smaller the distance you have to draw the line the better. Don't try to move slow.

It's also possible that the problem is your brush settings. If it's a program like Photoshop, things like jittering for size or scattering etc. can cause a bumpy or wavy line.
