No, it's just a book. Let them think what they want. As long as I know what I drew :B 0.021505376344086 2.2% [ 2 ]

It makes perfect sense to be protective of your sketchbook, but you also have to think about what it must be like for someone on the outside. Wouldn't you be curious? If you're going to take it out, or carry it around in public, it's pretty much an advertisement that you're an artist, and with that, people are going to want to know what your stuff looks like. It's never their right to grab, and they have to be careful, but there's also nothing wrong with their wanting to see... it's almost a social faux-pas not to show a little bit. It's like mentioning a secret in public and saying "oh wait-- no, no I can't/won't tell you"!
Personally I think it's a given that if you're carrying around any item of interest-- whether it's a videogame, a sketchbook or a box of cookies-- people are going to want to look at it.

So if you don't want people to bother you about it, I recommend you don't carry it with you out in the open for all to see.

For me, I wrote a set of rules and explainations and taped it to the back of the front cover of my sketchbook and required all who looked through my book to read those rules before looking through my stuff.
I know I am.

My best friend was over here a little while ago and she started going through my sketchbooks that I had lying around on my drawing table. I've NEVER argued with her over anything for as long as I've known her, or gotten pissy with her, for that matter. Still, I let fly as soon as I realized she was going through my sketchbooks without permission.

Sure, I didn't mind her seeing my finished work and crappy doodles, but I've got a lot of personal art in those things, too.

I've got a stack of sketchpads in my room >.< lol. I'm not that protective of them. Still though I don't want some a*****e rippin a page out to right down someone's phone number. Usually if you ask me, I'll let ya flip through cause everyone knows whats gonna be in it...dragons, skulls, and cartoons. And then again my friends could pick it up and flip through, some of the artsy-er of them even draw doodles for me lol.

Most of the time people don't need to look though...I have a habit of drawing my latest doodle on my arms with sharpie..yea...

I once had a drawing of myself nude in one of my sketchbooks for anatomy and realism practice. When my friend's mother started flipping through it, she asked me about that picture. I just put it on their table while I went to the bathroom, I didn't want them to look through it! That was embarrassing.

Now though, I have things in my books that aren't allowed to be seen by many people. Client's artwork, and things much more personal to me. I won't let anyone near it. If they asked to see pictures and are really persistent, I sigh, and flip through the book myself finding images that they are allowed to see and only show them about three.
Honestly if someone wants to see what I drew go ahead.. if they don't like it well that's their problem isn't it???? If they bug me about it then I'll just punch them in the face, no harm done right? haha
I'm really protective over my sketchbooks. I only let a few people look at them freely, and even then i'm self conscious. It's really a privacy thing I think. I feel like they're looking at my soul or something. >.<
I like having my drawings private. I'm always worried someone will get the wrong impression and start blurting it out to everyone.

I'm not very protective of my sketchbooks. I usually lay them out beside me and let people flip through them. It's their fault if they see something they don't want to see.
Well, I would be very protective of my sketchbooks, if my friends didn't steal it from me all the time and I hadn't learned to be careful about what I put in it. Though I suppose I am still pretty protective considering that I yell at people if they rough up any sketchbook I own. sweatdrop

Ugh D:

I hide my sketchbook, but I draw constantly in my school planner. And I hate when people look through it.

First, because they're not very good.
Second, because there's boy love in there. None of them notice, of course, but still, it's nerve-wracking.
Three, because they all freak out because a lot of them are romantically inclined. I find it really immature.

I'm not so protective of my actual school-art-books, which I do my art school work for, I'm not to bothered about that, cause I normally make sure all my works to a decent standard in there.

Although, I'm very protective of my personal sketchbooks, all my private drawings interests and geekiness is in there (and that is where it shall stay.)

heart heart heart
I don't like letting random people look into my sketchbook. I only let a couple of people flip through it, mostly because i don't someone who has no clue what they are talking about critiquing my art. Also, I don't want to have to explain my drawings.
I am really over-protective of my sketchbook. I mean, I have to practice anatomy SOMEHOW...which means pretty much 'near naked' or actually naked pics.

And yes...when people ask to see, and I say no, their first reaction is to grab it out of my hand. stressed
That makes me so mad.
I mean, there's usually a REASON I said no stare
