Difficulty Trying To Understand CE and BCE | HELP

Hello,

I have an essay to write, and I need to find an object that was made prior to/before 1800CE.

I'm EXTREMELY horrible when it comes to understanding dates, so how would I know if an object was made BEFORE 1800CE?

I've seen an object made from 1500-1525, no CE or BCE indicated. So I was wondering if this object is ok to write about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry if this question was a bit dumbfounded.

CE-Common or Christian era. so the dates you have work. BCE is the same as BC.

So the 1800s are 1800CE. You just have to write on anything before that.

AD = CE
BC = BCE

Right now the year is 2014CE
