to an extent I think he likes just being like that just to upset people. I lol for the most part.

and wow didnt know about them charging for all the main events, I mean thats why people come to cons and pay for the entry fee. oh wells, if thats the case if they put AA out where you dont even need to have a ticket and its in a big space you might get some nice sales since going to the dealers room would be out of it and see people make a 'con' in the out side.

(hey a girl can dream right?)

Well it does cost a lot to have a con in the first place. You know... renting that AA space in the hotel, advertisement, equipment, and other miscellaneous things...

Con Artist Allies are a steal compared to craft sales.

I think we just miss communicated. how does this relate? cause I wasnt talking of AA prices, just that they are charging attendees extra for events. I hope that they have it in an open area like the lobby or something where people don't have to have the ticket to browse. I do get a few people buy stuff from me that don't attend the con (at other cons, never been to AX)
omg.

I am not prepared for the con at all.

Think 22 unfinished images, only 6 of which are even started, that I need finished and printed on stickers, pins, etc.

The con is in 3 days.

and the stress of it all is making me too depressed to even move. I'm not just emo-whining, it is serious. I'm not going to go into the details about things and what happened and what I did and what my therapist said because it's TMI and you don't care.

And it's not really related. Except for the fact that I won't be prepared for the con because the stress of not being prepared is keeping me from getting prepared.

This is bad situation waiting to happen. If I were sane, I would just not go to the con.

Except all these people are expecting me to be there, people wanting to meet me, people expecting to stay in a hotel room that I'm organizing. My table partner, the one person I care about most. I would be letting them all down and I don't like letting people down (for the completely selfish reason that it hurts my reputation as someone who doesn't let people down and hurt them). But really, it's because not going would be giving in to mental illness (starting with admitting to myself that I have it), and that isn't something I ever want to do.

So I'm just going to force myself through it. I'm going to finish those pictures, the printing, cutting, baking, glazing, gluing, and all that. I have to. I'll be able to live with myself if I do. I'll finish the cosplay, too.

Writing this all out has made me feel a bit better already. Good enough to get started at least.
Best of luck Fiammetta! Worst comes to worse, maybe pick and choose about half of those pics and the rest for another con...Try to keep it together,babe...

P.S. I'm glad someone else likes ANNCast, they can be a bit harsh, but when you spend most of your time on the internet interacting with hyperactive otaku's (present company excluded of course) it's nice to hear someone with a objective view of the whole scene.... lol
Yeah, the stuff he says is true. *haven't listened to the newest ep yet, doing it now.*

They are harsh a lot of times (sometimes unnecessarily so) but the stuff they say is what a lot of anime fans need to hear. If only they'd listen...

Edit: OMG they're going to talk about Durarara!! (current obsession) omg *dies*

Edit again: oh wait, they didn't. Kind of wish they had...
Hey, I just discovered that there doesn't appear to be any information on AnimeIowa on the Wiki... Any specific questions I can answer about AnimeIowa's AA?
Also, I must say that HALLELUJAH I GOT A BUTTON MAKER. 8D This is the one I bought: http://www.badgeaminit.com/100114pinset.html Only kind I could afford, heheh. ^^;
Aki: Feel free to add any page you feel the Wiki needs. If you add the ANimeIowa page, use the AnimeNEXT page as a guide. Also, when you add the page, add AI to the con comparison page. In general, focus on the AA. Some info you can try to include:

Attendance
Approx number of AA tables
Proximity to the DR and the traffic the AA gets
Costs
Fanart policy, plushie/sculpture policy
Demographics (some cons have more kids than others, some have more "casual" fans rather than hardcore fans, and so on)

I am hoping to work on the ANext wiki page after the con, as well as write new guides based on my experiences at this con. I'm testing out a lot of new stuff, so hopefully I'll have plenty of guide material.
I dont find the Anncast harsh, though I do feel he tries to hard to sound harsh

@Fiammetta I'd suggest that you get other stuff done like taking inventory count and packing up. Then if you have a day or so work on 1-2 illustrations and get just a few printed at an office store. Don't try to finish up so many in such a short time or they'll look bad and then not sell

Aaah, ok. I would actually have to e-mail the Artist Alley head to get most of that information. @___@
Ah, just post what you can. Most of those things are public information. The only thing you'd need to get from the con itself are the demographics, but even that you can glean by attending the con a couple of times. All that really matters is the type of people you see at the AAm we don't really care about people who only go to other parts. If something is annoying to find out, then don't bother with it.

Plus it really irks me when I work hard on a project or 3 just to have none of them sell eek Even if other things sell it makes me wish I'd slept instead!

I'm with you on this, that the events should be included in the cost of the badge... the only events I've attended/skipped that were a separate charge at any convention (it wasn't an anime con either) were special banquets where there had to be a separate charge for the catering, as well as a headcount through the ticketing. Everything else that's a con event should be considered a con event and covered under the one pass; everything that's not considered a con event should be well advertised as a separate cost.

I haven't attended in a few years, but ACen is a con that does this well. You DO need a ticket for certain events (namely, the concert, though I think masquerade might be like this now too, again, haven't been going), but the ticket is FREE once you pay for your badge. You go get in line, get your ticket, and get a special stamp on your badge saying you got one already and can't get another.

Fiametta> *HUGS* Tell yourself it'll be okay. You can do it.

I really need to get off my a** and get some stuff working for my next cons... I'm supposed to have something new in October and I don't know what it's going to be... gonk
Ugh, meant to do some quick fanart to print tomorrow, ended up taking 5 hours.
