I'm on my way to bed myself. I have a reverse alarm clock in my cat, he's insisting it's time to sleep...

But hey, I got a decent amount done tomorrow, so I can keep busting out pages for another couple of days here and get it beat. biggrin I'm excited to see the final product of this work!

Good luck~

My kitty is an alarm clock of the worst sort....she bats at my nose until I get up, often way too early for my liking.
Hah, mine's much less physical than that, but he'll yell at me until I get up and feed him in the morning... Thus, I'm up again, with two forums checked and half a panel pencilled, all before 8 am. sweatdrop

If I don't get up, she'll lay her paw on my cheek and slowly draw her claws out to startle me awake. xd

I need to letter my comic. x_x I'm finding it hard to find a good stopping place for this chapter....
EVIL! blaugh Mine does the opposite, if I'm insistent enough about not getting up, he'll lay back down (and if it's chilly, snuggle up next to me).

I know what you mean about lettering... I've been plugging away so hard at the art for this, that I'm now about a full 11 pages behind on lettering. Everything else is done on those pages, but I haven't lettered more than the first...

Lettering is one of the more tedious parts of comic making for me. XD I'm about 6 pages behind on it.
Doing better than me, then! biggrin

I actually don't mind lettering TOO much (though I inevitably have to edit dialogue on the fly to make it fit the panels), but I do kind of find toning tedious, since I always end up with lines that aren't joined here or there, or lines that are too thick or thin or scratchy (brush inking...) so it's kind of a pain... I'm in the midst of toning one page and penciling another (and plotting out a couple of commissions that may pay for the printing of the book, or at least offset it), and eventually I'm going to have to get the script pages together and start putting words in.

I've got a question for everyone, why do we do this stuff to ourselves? blaugh gonk

Because we WANT to! We wish to walk down our own path, to ACTUALLY create something cool...To "do our own thing" so to speak, to refuse the bland mass produced, to truly stand out as individual human beings....!!!!

sorry...heh, I was reading about the punk movement and the whole "DIY" thing the other day...
Drawing manga and making fanart kinda brings out the whole Beatnik/Non-mass consumerist/punk
in me... xd
Oh, yeah...I forgot to ask....

Since a couple of voice actors are going to be at San-Japan...I was thinking about making autograph boards for about..maybe 50 cents....or a dollar...
It would just be a chibi character they played with a big space for their name on cardstock....

Oh, that's a clever idea! Little mini prints they can sign? Why not!

I've worked on con guides that have autograph spaces, so there's definately interest in the idea... I think mini-prints would be nice though in that they could easily be displayed after the con.
Some conventions don't allow that though...

Quote:
You should NOT just print stuff out for guests to sign; stick to official, licensed merchandise, blank autograph/sketchbooks, or your convention program book. Some of them will even have glossy photos for sale.

But don't bring printouts or anything that's not official merchandise. Otherwise you're basically saying "I like what you do, but not enough to contribute toward you making a living". Guests will always sign the official program guide.

- Alabaster on the Otakon forums. I kind of agree...

Yeah, sounds like it might be something to check into first.

Ah, that is a good point... didn't think of that. ^^;;
