I generally take about a dozen of each volume, and that seems to be good... (though, as of the last con, I'm no longer selling those volumes and switching to a larger one, of which I'll carry more with me.)

Use me as a referrer? cool

Oh, and how much you pay depends on what you're doing and who you're using. ^_^
Provided the quality is good enough, I was planning to use the copy-machine at work and just buy the paper. Same with my fliers. I don't think my mini-comics will be a full chapter, maybe the first scene or so of chapter two.

So 25 copies won't cost me much in money, just time to get the page order figured out and then assembly.

Oh, and how many fliers should I make? I'll be using them in place of business cards.
Free flyers you'll want in larger quantities... I went through probably 400-500 handouts over the weekend last weekend? I know I blew through about 300 bookmarks, and about 70 magnets, and I really don't know how many business cards, since a stack of them also went to the guy making and selling patches of my characters... This was a con of 3500, and handing them out mostly indiscriminately (due to the violent content, and the potential nudity in my comic, I tend to give cards to teenagers and older).

I did copy-machine ashcans once, using a few pages out of my comic as the sample. It worked pretty well. ^_^
Ah. I was thinking 100 fliers, but I think I'll bump that up to 150-200. At 4 to a page it won't be a ridiculous number to make.
I figure, it never hurts to have extra handouts. That's more potential eyes on your work. ^_^
That's the hope, anyway wink

I'm off to bed, then. I've got an organic chemistry exam tomorrow. x_x
Oh, jeez, good luck... (says the ex-chem major)
I horrendously underestimated the number of business cards I needed for my first table... I've also found it difficult to estimate how many prints I should take with me. I don't want be stuck with a lot of stuff that won't sell, but then I don't like having to tell people that I'm out of something...

When I get to that point, of course I'll use you as a referrer. Thanks for the advice. X3
I think with prints it would be a good idea to have the files on a CD or something, so you can have more prints made if necessary.

Phew, I hope that test went okay. I only feel so-so about it. =/ Once I finish for the semester I'll be able to start on my stuff. Still need to register for the con.

For the on I went to, I decided to have 5-10 of my prints made of the smaller sizes. The larger ones, I had 5 each of and not as many pictures. Got a few people asking for some in larger sizes, so a CD would be a good thing to have if you need to make more prints.

I have a lot left over, but I'll just use those for future cons. Many of them were free prints, anyway.
I'm living with false hope

And my eyes just want to see a ray of light

I'm gonna find it in my fairy tale...

I think Otakon alley registration is opening soon, since the rules are up... Okay... I'll be home this week. Might as well try to get a table.

I'll also be selling jewelry at a neighborhood craft fair type thing soon. Probably.
Fourth page?!

C'mon guys. Seriously?

Ah well, back to the egg hunt.
Hotel room reserved! Now I've gotta find some roomies.
Which convention is this for?

I'm considering looking into conventions outside of my hometown (Minneapolis) and into some relatively nearby conventions to try and grab a table in.
The big one I can think of is Anime Iowa. How's that, alley-wise? Does anyone know of any cons that are close enough to southern Minnesota that I could feasibly drive or take the MegaBus to?
