Metallic paper is so pretty <3 That sounds like a good idea.

X3 Ohayocon AA opens August 1st~

The ones we have at work are amazingly pretty... very sparkly and awesome. ^_^ My magpie-tendencies couldn't resist them when I was sent to pick up more colored papers.

I saw that... *angsts* I need to get the app ready ASAP here.

I still had my product stuff from last year saved so I just copied that and added my new pictures so far XD

I should have my comic ready by the time Ohayocon rolls around <3

I think I"ve still got that sucker around, myself, so I can probably work from that... Might do a better table diagram, I can't use the old one anyway since I've modified it since then. Otherwise... I kind of still sell the same stuff, just a new format. biggrin

I've gotta have my comic ready by 8/15 in order to have it in hand by my next con... oh how I wish it were Ohayocon right now. (...No I don't. I"d procrastinate more. blaugh gonk )

I have a better idea for my table set up.

X3 And I'll have more stuff. Ordered a batch of buttons and some stickers today.

I should ink my Valentine's Cards. gonk

So how does Ohayocon work? Do you just send them an email on Aug. 1?

Check their forums, it has all the stuff you need to send them on August one. pretty much your portfolio, product list so far, and what you're doing for a display.

Yeah, but where do you send it to? artist_alley (at) ohayocon (dot) org? You send it exactly at Midnight? Or just any time that day? The people who send it in first get a better chance at a table, or not because of the portfolio reviews? Do they judge the quality of your art/ your skill?

I inherited an old paper trimmer myself, that works pretty well, though it's got a small capacity... ^^ Not sure what brand it is or where it came from or if you can even get it anymore, though.

So, I think I may have figured out what my small "gift" is for people who've previously bought my books, and was wondering what the thoughts here might be. I think what I'll do is a set of small print-postcards, similar to what sometimes comes in LE DVDs.

I'm torn between doing them in a small "folder" and wrapped in plastic, or in an opaque envelope to protect them... I'd probably sell some of them, in addition to the free ones, so I may also include a special additional print for the free ones (thinking on metallic paper like one of the pretty ones we have at work). Potentially, too, I could do the opaque envelopes for the gift sets, and the plastic envelopes for the for-sale sets. Hm...

Anyhow, thoughts from the other AA'ers?
If you use a transparent cover then when the customer carries your art other people can see it too. It's good advertising for your table.

Should be any time that day or after. But really, you should join the forums and ask the AA head any questions you have.

My mom has it in her head that I'll be needing $200 in change. In your experience, how many people buy with $20s or $50s?
I opted for a fanny pack for carrying money instead of the zipper pouch. I doubt I'll have any problems, but I'll feel more secure wearing the money. sweatdrop

They just posted the map, and the artist alley is along the wall outside the dealer's room / ballrooms and across from the screening rooms / panel room. Do I want to be closer or further from the dealer room doors?

I see 20s fairly often, but I don't think I've ever been paid in a 50 that I can recall... though it does occasionally happen.

I actually only keep $60 in my cash box at the start of business for the day... in the past it's been $25 in 5s, $25 in $1 coins, and $10 in quarters... I've discontinued the uneven-dollar-amount items, though, so I'm switching to $35 in $5s, as I go through them faster. (I'd actually cut back the $1s if they didn't come in $25 rolls.)
