I've got a couple of ideas for prints already... ^_^ I know how to proceed on the bento bags, on the bandannas I'm trying to decide between a main central design, or a design done on half of it so when you fold it into a triangle the full design is still visible... I may go with that one, possibly even with two related designs so you can fold it either way. biggrin

Just gotta get fabric inks, more screens, and some time to work on them.

I got some nice, shiny purple and gold fabric for a table runner. I'm also planning on hanging some origami pieces around. If I can say so, I think it looks nicer already with just the jewelry displays up.

Sounds nice! I like hanging things for no good reason.

I saw a tutorial on makeshift screen printing but the last time I tried it didn't work out to well lol. I just bought some different material so I think it'll come out better. What method are you using?

Otakon is getting close... I've started packing. Nerves haven't set in yet.

+ if my drawings don't sell, my jewelry and origami and origami jewelry just might. xd

I'm using actual screens. biggrin My secondary major focus in college was Printmaking, so I do actually have some experience, though it was a few years ago... got all the materials, though, to start up. I just need the proper inks and a few more screens.

Edit: Dammit I hate capchas on posts...

I think I have those exact same keychains, I think I got them from Walgreens. For prints for those I usually set up two images of that size for a 4x6 photo print and then cut them with my little paper cutter. That way the printing part is super cheap. Its more expensive to get weird sizes than just use the 4x6 as a template. I use both of the images so its double-sided.
I charge $4.50 for em and sell them on occasion. I don't have a really big selection so they may sell better if I did. I based it on keychains and stuff like that usually sells for like $5-6 in the dealer room last I looked. $3 is quite reasonable. Go by how well you think they'd sell, you can always raise it a bit if they sell well.

Also, I generally make one of each image finished in the keychain, and just bring extra blanks and cut prints to make another one once the first sells since they're pretty easy to pop together. That way you don't have to invest in having as many finished.
I found them at Wal-mart X3 The blanks are a good idea if one image sells a lot better than the others. Hmm...

The place I got my prints from has uncut wallet sizes, 4 on a 5x7, for the same price as a 4x6 so that's probably what I'll be doing.

I think for some reason the photo keychains I saw were slightly off from standard wallet size. Was annoying.

*aggravated* Anyone know of good SMALLER Florida cons? =__=; I'm so fed up with this one I go to for Artist Alley.... I just got in a big argument with the guy who runs it, because he's so damn closed minded... and it ended with what would be considered art. I'm done! I think he just lost some of his usual artists in his already small artist alley.

This thread is extremely helpful. biggrin
I have only participated in an Artist Alley once, in just a small anime convention.
I wasn't prepared at all. o.o;

Now I'm preparing for the next ones, and hopefully the turn out would be better. I'm doing a bit of research, but they aren't successful.
Basically, my problem lies in making different kinds of merchandise. >u<;
Does anyone here know how to print your art on buttons? I have seen button makers that are sold online, but to own one is a bit expensive. ;.;

Have you heard of Animesouth? It's located in the panhandle of florida. It's the one I go to every year. Their website www.animesouth.com

Oh, yeah? I haven't heard of them, probably because I'm MUCH further south. surprised I'm in the Palm Beach area, so I usually hear about Yasumicon and Mizucon. And ChibiPa, which is what I refuse to do after this year.

I actually havn't done Anime South though I do several of the Florida cons. AFO is coming up really soon in Orlando. I didn't realize the people at Chibi-pa AA were closeminded. I did Chibi-pa last year but it was too small for me, it seemed like more of a hangout party with a group of people than a con so I wasn't going to go back. The AA there was only really a handful of people. When I got there, the guests had taken my chairs and I got the horrible table on the end.
Metrocon is past, but its a pretty good one, though maybe bigger than you want. Unfortunately JACON is over permanently though Wasabi Anime was putting together a 2-day con to replace it, I forget what its called, in Orlando. Its a bit far, but the anime club at FSU in Tallahassee runs Freecon yearly. Hmm there are probably others.

Really behind on things, sorry >.<

Well, I was talking to Jason online. =_= (I remember you from AA! I was in there too. smile ) I think he lost quite a few artists for next year, thanks to what he had to say. I refuse to support him next year.
How much does AFO's AA usually end up costing?
