Welcome to Gaia! ::

when your at the final pencil line til finishing your drawing ... someone walks by and nudges your pencil making a huge hard pressed line through the middle of your drawing. that s**t just pisses me off mad
people asking me 'who is it?' when it obviously isn't anyone rolleyes
and like most of the people here, i find it a bit disconcerting when people are watching me draw, probably cause it's kinda like they're watching me -think-. I can't really explain it, but hopefully someone will understand, haha.

when the first comment or critique I get is "why is she/he so fat?"
rolleyes oh golly, I'm sorry I didn't draw them looking like an anorexic emo phrat.

Agreed. I dislike when people try to impose their own ideas of beauty on my images. "The shoulders are too mannish" or the like when I use more curves and muscles to depict, say... a mace wielding draenai from WoW, or a Gaiatan carrying elf woman for someone's avi.

-_- I grew tired of trying to draw all swan necked pencil thin waifs ages ago.

I hate it when people go through my sketchbook without even asking.

IT FREAKS ME OUT, MAAAAAAAN.

Oh lord, don't I know... They'll pick it up and start leafing through it as I'm setting up my pencils. One never knows what i have in there. I'll sometimes draw rather nude images to practice anatomy, and living in the bible belt... well.. You can get some odd looks.

Other things I hate are people that watch me draw, and ask if I can draw them. I can, and usually fairly well... but their expectation is for me to stop what I'm doing right then and draw them. -_- it irks me so.

... Also, lately, now that I've decided to abandon the artistic career path, I find critiques a little less bearable. I'm not sure why, but they've been getting on my nerves more an more. Perhaps I'm just bitter. ^^

When people say "Adobe" or "Corel" when they mean "Adobe Photoshop" or "Corel Painter."

IT DRIVES ME UP THE WALL. Don't just say Adobe; that company has made more than one graphics program (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc for Adobe; Painter, PSP, Draw, etc. for Corel). You don't say "Microsoft" when you mean Microsoft Word!!!!!! gonk scream burning_eyes

I understand that it's foolish, but why are you so mad about it? User Image

I hate it when ppl change it or colour it in when it isn't supposed to be. Or when they ask you for a drawing and then they wright their name on it THEN show it off as there own. A girl did tht to me once and I beat the s**t out of her. Man tht felt good.

Sounds needlessly violent to me... Though, I have had someone rip off some popular tattoo art of mine and pass it off and sell it as their own. -_-

THIS
I can't tell you how close I've come to strangling people becasue they do that.
Pisses me off so much...
I hate it when people whine and moan about how they can't draw something when they wont even bother to take the time to try and learn.

"I can't draw hands they're so complicated!"
or
"Whats the secret to drawing boys that don't look like girls?!"

I hate it when people are watching me, or when I draw something and realize that someone's been staring over my shoulder the whole time, when I'm obviously trying to cram my sketchbook under my school desk while I doodle so that no one looks.
Another thing I hate would be "OMG IT'S MI STYLE f** OFF!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111!!1 IM REPOTING U FOR HARRASMNT" when giving honest critique.

When people tell you," I would have done this..." Just drives me nuts!
(I draw in pen and graphite pencils, usu. black and white and people always tell me to do it in color.) Or when people say," That's weird." or "WTF?"

lol I bet it did!! People redo mine and colour them, and it makes me so angry.
it seems most people do not like being watched. personally that doesnt bother me. what i hate most.........is paint brushes that get fluffy and stick out everywhere mad even though you take really good care of them. also people who critique your art when they arnt in a position to critique it. for example when they tell you your art would be better had you done this that way but when you look at their art they do the exact same thing. or when they say something about it just cuz they feel like they can and it doesnt help at all.

I know what you mean. I don't like people who aren't artistic then they go and judge even though they don't have the first clue.
I don't mind people watching me draw/paint, as long as they aren't hindering my work.

My biggest artist peeve is when I am trying to work and there are small children or cell-phone users around that refuse to be quiet or at least use "inside voices". This is especially a problem in museums, when I want to draw dinosaur remains on a day that just happens to coincide with a day care field trip.
