Welcome to Gaia! ::

Someone random watching you draw and saying "May I make some corrections?"

A friend did it at a party, he was joking. He was trying to say the most insulting thing you could to an artist.

What are yours?

Hum. Someone asking me if they could make corrections doesnt bother me.

What really puts a bee in my bonnet is someone who bonks me on purpose so I "mess up"

._. that really bugs me.
Definitely people watching me - that goes for drawing and when I'm working on the computer.
Definitely people watching me while I'm working. I really hate it, and can't work when people do that. stare
i like my privacy when i'm working.
It used to be people watching while I drew, but with art class and workshops and such I had to get over that.

Now it's when my "non-smudging" eraser smudges. Makes me scream profanities. >.>
When someone ruins my picture and isn't the least bit sorry. scream
1. When people are watching me.

2. When in a critique, they say "It's my style."

3. When people draw on my drawing.
When people watch me drawing &/or working on CGing and ask "What's it supposed to be?", I'm like, "this is EXACTLY why you don't come in when I'm not done neutral "
When people give critique, and doesn't add anything on how to fix it. A.k.a. "it looks weird"-syndrome.

I loathe passionately the "It's my style" excuse when I bother to give a critique, or just being blown off in general, especially if it's rather rude. I rarely give out critiques, and it's only for intermediate or more advanced artists or artists at about the same skill level as me, and then only if they ask for it. Once in a certain art guild a certain artist posted a certain drawing asking for C&C and I decided to give my two cents concerning a horrid kiss* that marred a good work [an eye was crammed to the facial silhouette line in a 3/4 view]. Of course, the reply I get back is, "Thanks, but that's just the way I draw it."

I no longer bother commenting, much less critiquing, this artist. My time and effort is worth too much.

I also particularly dislike using graphite for more than sketching, grubby erasers, zapped inspiration, drawing next to people who are ridiculously better than I am, a new medium that is unwilling to cooperate with my hands, not understanding certain critiques [especially by sub-par critics], and not being able to get out what's in my head.

*By kiss I mean the art term for a tangent, i.e. the touching of "a line, curve, or surface, touching but not intersecting another line, curve, or surface."
