Megatokyo. Terribly drawn, IMO. Fred doesn't even ink his drawings before he puts them up.
And people eat it up like the elixer of the gods. O_o;
I thought he was a good storyteller, though. These days I don't read it and haven't for really long, but the storytelling and how easily accessible (this is a design related thing) it was to get into it was pretty well done.
About art trends (and design, if I may?) ... well, anime is currently a mainstream trend. As with all trends, it starts out with a great idea, it becomes way popular and suddenly everyone is doing it. It brings a lot of "visionaries" who forget the basics which the trend sprung out from in the first place.
The idea of "Web2.0" annoys me as well, because no one seems able to TRULY define it and they're already starting to talk about "Web3.0"? It annoys me because what seems like the next obvious step in web development, a future we can all sense has just turned into a buzzword. D: sigh
I find trends in general stupifying because they're overhyped and get twisted from their original meaning. I prefer trying to understand the trend itself, but usually the followers seem like shallow people who don't get it anyway.
