Has one of the things very common in your art been listed? (Not that it's important for you to care...)

Yes. I think I might change some things... 0.12666666666667 12.7% [ 19 ]

anime on air that had GREAT manga art but looks horrible on the tv..............

Manga art is always going to be better than anime art. It would take an inhuman amount of resources to animate a style of art exactly as it is in the manga. Most studios don't have those kinds of resources.
wat pisses me off? giant anime eyes, giant boobs(i mean there is such thing a** a bit TOO much)

One thing that amuses me a bit is the over use of wings on characters, without tails. Without the tails flight would be clusmy, if at all possible (even flying squirrels use their tails in flight/gliding).
Additionally the wings are the wrong size; either increadibly large or little midget wings which look rediculous, it just proves the wings are there for the sake of being cool, not for flight or a justifiable part of the character, etc. Lastly there are the whole busty girls who are pathetically skinny with wings (where is the muscule, essential for flight?)

Ooooh kind of a rant, but my point's in there, somewhere. gonk

Question, though.

What about characters that are supposed to be angelic? Angels aren't usually portrayed as having tails... What to do then?

10. Copic bandwagon
You: Yay ! I got Copic markers for Christmas !!1eleventeen !!1!! *does the eggnog cabbage patch*
Me:You got Copics for Chrsitmas ? Wow, that's nice. Did you get a whole set ?
You: No, I just got the colors I need for anime art.
Me; -_-;

I never understood that. What colors do you need for anime art? I mean, when I first started using copics, I had two reds and three grays. Now... well, I've got a lot. I spent all my loose cash I got for Hanukkah on copics. sweatdrop And what's a full set? Mostly, I've just gotten colors as I saw fit, and I have a lot of earth tones and neutrals.

I'm such a spoiled brat...
Of anything, I can't stand tracings. Being on DA for a few years and that's all I've seen, especially in the anime section. People being praised for a manga or screen cap pose we've already seen.

It's really unnerving. Not that I have anything against people who are learning by tracing; however, please don't post it on DA, it's becoming a nasty trend ~_~ When you're trying to find something original for a series and can't because you see the same damn image all over the main pages >.>

It can be really irritating, especially when you've seen the same piece 20 times >.> A lot of series have been fan raped in such a manner ^^;

That's my peeve.

If you draw a few lines, call it a chibi and make it rainbow colored people will worship your skills.

Ding ding ding! That drives me right up the wall.

Also the over-blush on joints and things; there should/could be a little more color in certain spots, especially if the subject is doing somthing physically exerting, but the medium-rare look does not a good picture make. Leave it to people like Leyendecker and Rockwell who could work it, and it was original and actually added to the piece.

Also, B.S. post-modernism/expressionism, completely divorced of all meaning. Especially things like installations and readings which convey nothing, not even a pleasing aesthetic, to the audience. You aren't Hugo Ball, people! Stop screwing the system!

EDIT: And I always thought DBZ was sarcastic. About itself. Honestly. It's just too ridiculous to contemplate otherwise.

Nonsense. Who doesn't love seeing anime girls with boobs engulfing their face?

No, really I agree with you. Breast reduction surgeries can be a great thing.
You know, I really don't like the art syle of that show "Tom goes to the Mayor"

Maybe its because the show is crap to me but i just can't stand to look at it...its the animation....there is none!! I need animation!! Rawr!!
(X)Spork(X)
Unproportioned (I can't spell today >< wink bodys Dx Like Furuba's earleir volumes xX;
I still think the the later volumes the people were un proportional.

I don't like the Furuba style in general actually.
Well, im gonna be up front with you... I really don't like Marvel comics. Your average comics with spiderman or the hulk or whatever. The style it's drawn in is way too....... western? I supose? But yeah, I really like just realism or the many styles of anime and fantasy and just not Marvel style comics. I hate it!
Anything by disney lately seems to rub me the wrong way - I mean, like, they have some of the best artists in the world, some of the greatest animating programs and the ability to make truly wonderous works of art, but they settle for ... for... ugh, I hate to even say it, but ... Madagascar. Oooh *shudder* and ... Lloyd in space... and The American Dragon... *puking now*. then there's other companies, that create the likes of *shuddering again* Spongebob squarepants... and ren and stimpy (or whatever it's called), oh, yeah, and the animated version of Dumb and Dumber, (god, please no more) Ok, one more... Yakity Yack.......... *dies*

Give me 'B' grade anime anyday, it's better than so called 'A' grade western stuff.

First... I love eggnog.

Also, I heartily agree with this. Freakin' noobs rape the hell out of the copics that are obviously too good for them. I hate seeing good resources going to such terrible waste.

rofl

Yup yup yup, Wacom, shiney copics, prismacolour pencils, daler-rowney do not make artists magically good!

Wings! Wings are on everything it feels like. And to make it worse, wings are drawn on characters in such ways that it doesn't make sense. Wings are so overused that it makes me feel bad for drawing any idea I would have that actually involves wings.
But I LIKE wings. >:

Wings on creatures or people don't annoy me as much as people that don't know HOW to draw them. Unless they're decoration-only, they HAVE to have friken joints! >< And if they're feathered, the feathers have to be different sizes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate wings at all. Otherwise I wouldn't have any ideas or characters with them, but there's just this over and misuse of them.

I agree! Angels are fine sometimes but even in popular anime shows they'll draw it so that the actual start of the wing should by all rights connect with their butt.

That is indeed so for most concepts... *shrug*
Neko girls with enormous breasts ripped off and put in someone's signiture.
"OMG TIS IS MAI RP CHARACTER ISN'T SHE KAWAAIII!!!"
That inflation thing..ew.
And I also hate the way anime characters have almost no noses.
Well, the anime trend doesn't bother me one bit. I will admit, I'd like to see a little more diversity on the front page of dA, but I wouldn't call it a peeve. I myself like to practice a variation of styles from time to time..
What I don't like is people (such as a very recent example I've come across, but I won't point her out) who think having the skill to draw is all you need to be an artist. What I hate even more is when they have barely developed any skill at all. ):

I usually don't draw especially unique pictures, or things with a deep meaning behind it, but I always have some sort of reason for drawing the things I do (fan art, original, and other things).
And one more thing. I'm not totally shounen-ai ships, but I really hate pointless slash. Akuroku gets on my nerves. And even more people drooling all over "yaoi" pictures. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the individuals that like this stuff since I have many friends who do, and I love being around them.
The RPer who find a random image on the internet for there character, and call it original. And then when you say you'll draw peoples OC (ORIGINAL characters) they pop up wanting pictures of their stereotypical character that they ganked from someone else.
And Not really something that pisses me off, but just irks me. You don't need a name for EVERY PERSON YOU DRAW. Seriously! You can just draw a person with no name or story, it won't kill you. Especially if that is the only time you draw said person.

Oh and then, of course, the person who need their ego popped. There has been many of artists that are ok, but definitely need improvement, and when you point that out helpfully, they blow up on you, saying its their style.
"You neck is too small and the arms are too short. Try doing blah blah blah" (insert helpful comment here)
"OMG NO IT PERFECT! I MEANT TO DRAW IT THAT WAY, ITS MY STYLE! YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS!"
